MSDP encryption option on storage server

hi Team,

In order to enable the MSDP encryption option on storage server (so that all backed up data remain encrypted) , I need to edit the line in contentrouter.cfg

Please correct me If I am wrong  -

Remove the line highligted in the screenshot and add the below line --

ServerOptions=fast,verify_data_read,agent_crypt

Is there anything I need to add , modify ?

thank you for always helping.

    According to the tech note you need to re-start nbrmms service.

    1. If the host is the storage server or a load balancing server, restart the NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service (nbrmms) on the host.

  • thanks Nicolai , Second is really useful. This is exaclty I wanted to do .

    Currently contentrouter.cfg on server is  --

    ServerOptions=verify_data_read,verify_so_references,fast

    I will replace it as  -

    ServerOptions=verify_data_read,verify_so_references,fast,agent_crypt

    then , restart the NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service.

    Anything else I need to edit ?

  • thank you Nicolai and Marianne for help. I have added agent_crypt at the end of the line and restarted NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service.

    its a new setup  so I wanted to ensure MSDP encryption is correctly added before any backup starts :-)
