Netbackup 6.5.6 nbemm not starting

    Try to rename existing vxdbms and retry the command:

    create_nbdb –config_only -force 

    Please do not copy & paste the command as the '-' is sometimes changed to a longer 'dash' which makes the option invalid:

     

    create_nbdb –config_only -force 

    is not the same as :

    create_nbdb -config_only -force

    Hope this helps.

    If the above still does not work, your only other option seems to be a catalog restore...

You need to repeat bpdown until all NBU services are stopped.

No point in trying anything with some services/processes up and some down.

I cannot ask you to reboot as NBU services will automatically start up.

bpdbm and bpexpdate says that image cleanup may be running in the background.
No idea why there is a running bptm  (tape manager).
nbproxy should terminate when no more calls are made between new and legacy processes.

I cannot ask you to log a SEV 1 call with Symantec because NBU 6.x ran out of support in 2012.

So, all I can ask you is to keep on trying. Even try to kill processes in Task manager.

When bpps shows no more running processes, proceed with PBX restart and bpup, followed by checking emm log.
