Netbackup Accelerator for ISILON DEVICES

    Hi,

    NDMP Accelerator is only available for NetApp. Isilon has some improvements which are said to give better performance and storage savings.

    Extract from v8 NetBackup Release Notes 

     MSDP stream handler enhancements for Isilon filers using NDMP
    This release of NetBackup includes enhancements to the MSDP stream handler.
    These enhancements provide improved deduplication rates when data is written to MSDP from Isilon filers using NDMP. No additional set-up or configuration is required to take advantage of these enhancements.

    So, no Accelerator as yet, just 'improved stream handlers'.

I see that doc was last updated on 10 August 2016.

I wonder if Veritas has a newer version for changes in NBU 8....

    I confirmed with VERITAS tech support Netbackup accelerator is not yet supported with ISILON and other filers in Netbackup 8.0
