Hello,

Please provide your support with this issue, we have configured an Oracle Intelligent Policy, with the option to delete the archive logs after 2 successful backups, but it is not doing so, reviewing the log, it is asking a question, but it is not supposed to Should OIPs automate these tasks?

  • This looks wrong - I would open a support ticket with Veritas.

  • I agree with Nicolai

    I've never seen that response in ANY NBU log file before. I'd be interested in knowing what support says about this and what the solution was.

  • Hello,

    its for the support, but Oracle's not Veritas. RMAN command BACKUP ARCHIVELOG DELETE INPUT , which is generated by OIP, should not ask for confirmation.

    Regards

    M.

  • It's a bug, the rman statements miss the keyword "noprompt ".

    The correct statements should like this:

    delete noprompt archivelog all completed before 'sysdate-1/6';

  • Any updates on this one?
    I have the exact same problem in a NetBackup 10.2.0.1 Oracle installation.
    Would be nice with a case number, I can refer to.

      An pretty weird that the RMAN behavior is to be prompted when you try to delete after two copies, but not after one copy. Nifty little "feature" :)

  • Has there been any update on this issue ?

    I am getting the same error.
