RMAN Backup ERROR 239 after Server Migration

Dears,

Kindly note we've migrated a database server zone to another host with the same storage, os, users, disk groups, ..., and installed the NB agent again on the server and when we run the RMAN backup we get the below error, in the attachment you can find dbclient log and bpcd

  • Hello,

    the error is pretty self-explaining. You did not change/add new hostname to the appropriate NetBackup Oracle policy.

      Thanks for your swift response,

      The hostname's been already added to a policy with the same hostname, please check below resulte from client

      root@mccdr # ./bpclntcmd -self

      gethostname() returned: mccdr
      host mccdr: mccdr at 192.168.199.20
      aliases:     mccdr     192.168.199.20
      getfqdn(mccdr) returned: mccdr.mobilecom.jo
      root@mccdr # ./bpclntcmd -pn
      expecting response from server mcmp
      mccdr mccdr 192.168.199.20 63881

      Thanks a lot, it's my mistake the hostname in the policy was in capital letters :)
