i think you need to update your host file in Master , Media & Client as shown below
192.168.0.44 myserver01 myserver01.mydomain.com
So, are you getting status 24 when you try to connect or during backup (connection fine, backup fails with 24 after some data transmitted).
If the same connect error as the post you are referring to, please create bpcd log dir on client.
Do 'bptestbpcd -client <client-name> -verbose -debug' on server.
Please post bptestbpcd output as well as client's bpcd log.
You need to confirm that the client can resolve master's IP to a hostname that appears in client's bp.conf SERVER list. Create /etc/hosts entries if DNS is not used or reverse lookup not enabled.
You also need to confirm that vnetd (port 13724) is open in both directions. Iptables normally need to be disabled as well on Linux.
