STATUS CODE: 6 " the backup failed to back up the requested files"

Hi Everyone,

I am using netbackup 7.0 and try to backing up SAP.

i create a new template about SAP backup.
i was add  the host names both servers.
i check the tns names and password.
and l was done the oracle_link.

but finally i get this error message when i try to run backup script

STATUS CODE: 6 " the backup failed to back up the requested files"

  • I talked with the db admin and he said that , when you add this line to your script, your problem will be solved.
    this line is : set maxcorrupt for datafile 15,7 to 10;

    do you think is this correct solution ? l wonder if it takes sap backup with the corrupt block file when l need to restore sap is it create any problem ?

    also, include some details -- netbackup version, policy type,  client OS, rman output for database backup, etc

  • This post has been solved.
    Please start a new thread and include the output from the database backup script.
    Also include the following info:
    NBU version on Master/media and client
    O/S and version
    Database and version

    Status 6 is a generic database backup failure error.
