suspend job command

hi,

i have two queries about suspend command in netbackup  on unix server:

1st: to suspend all running jobs in netbackup now , is the following command correct or not ?

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpdbjobs -suspend_all -M master_server

2nd :if we reboot master server after suspend jobs and then resume the suspended jobs after reboot is the backup not corrupted and is a consistent copy?

  • Extract from 'bpdbjobs -help'

bpdbjobs: -resume | -suspend | -delete | -cancel | -restart
            <job1,job2,...jobn> | type=<jobtype> | type=all

Please understand that only Standard and MS-Windows jobs with 'Take Checkpoints' enabled in Policy Attributes can be suspended.

Checkpoint is taken at file boundaries and will cointain a pointer to the next file in the list.
So, there is no reason why backup would be corrupt. (Done it many times at a large customer site.)

See Admin Guide I for detailed description of Checkpoint Restart.
