Please let me know the concept of basic VM ware backup.I have read the manual.
We install NBU on all the virtual machine on the ESX machine. ??

However, perhaps it is not too easy to understand, I will give you a clue ...
On the ESX server, this is where the VM clients live.
The NBU software is ONLY installed on the VMWare backup host
The vmware backup host must be able to access the datastore on the esx server
SO, the ONLY server that NBU connects to is the VMWare backup host, this is the ONLY machine NBU backups up ... and the ONLY machine with the NBU client software installed.
BUT
The VMWare backup host has access to the disks containig the VM clients ....
So, can you work out how it works, or even have a guess after reading the guide again ?
CLUE. snapshots are involved
