The backup failed to back up the requested files (6)

Hello Team,

We are getting error on RMAN Backup.. please suggest what is the issue with it and what can be done to resolve it..Thanks.

Master, Media : SunOS 5.10 - NBU 7.6.1 

Client : SunOS 5.10 - NBU 7.6.0

  • That makes it even more strange, but you need to investigate why you get a mount failure on a VTL tape/drive.

    I have seen examples on VOX before where VTL system cause mount issues.

    Indeed, the VLT drive that pose the problem.
    After deleting the drive, the backup is conclusive.

  • I think you got a robot/tape issue: media id XXXXX load operation reported an error

    Check for  :

    damaged tape (same scratch tape is selected every time but is never written upon).
    read-only tapes
    Hardware error on robots (out of calibration)
    Tape drive errors (e.g. RW head so dirty it can't read the tape header).

      Thank you,

      these are the Virtual tapes of the VTL Falconstor solution
      the same tape and the same drive, work correctly for another job
