Transfer backup images to new master server
I need to transfer some backup images to a new NetBackup environment. The basic procedure is clear. The one thing I am not sure about is the following: The naming convention for backup policies differs between the two NetBackup environments, i.e. the current policy does not exist in the new environment. Will this be an issue during import or later on in case a restore is needed?
No, you will have no problem.
When a backup is finished, it is "independent."
E.g., you can change the retention of the policy, but all existing backup images are not altered.
