/usr/openv/db/staging

Hi  can content of /usr/openv/db/staging be deleted manually when no catalog backup is in progress. if it get deleted will it effect any thing like next catalog backup.

    You can delete the contents yes (don't delete the staging directory though), the database copy will get recreated in here at the next catalog backup

It will not affect anything. Staging is used when you do a catalog backup. It makes a copy of your database and database conf files there and backs them up from there instead of using the live database location.
