Veritas BMR Virtual to Physical

Hi,

I am searching for guide Veritas BMR technology. Do the BMR have the steps of restore from virtual to physical? What I found only physical to virtual.

I couldn't find the steps. If anyone have the information, could share to me?

    Hi ikmalj 

    If you perform a BMR backup of a virtual machine (i.e. using the NetBackup agent), you should be able to restore this to a physical machine using the restore to dissimilar hardware method - look for the section in the BMR guide "Restoring to a dissimilar system". You  cannot use BMR to recover a VMware (policy) backup to a physical machine.

    The BMR restore to virtual is a different type of process that converts the BMR backup to a Virtual machine (ie creates the VMDKs required).
