FAQ: What is a Collector?

Here is a question that the DRA product team received, and thought it would be useful to share the answer with the community:

What is a Collector?

  • Here is the response from the DRA product team:

A collector is a remote server configured at one of your remote locations to collect data at that specific location and send that data to the DRA master server. There can be multiple collectors configured throughout your datacenter at various locations. Each collector helps in providing the DRA master server with information and also load-balancing the information collection. Collectors, as well as the master server, can be configured as virtual machines within your environment.
