Server Migration Wizard - screenshots

I've recently tested the Server Migration Wizard on my home lab.

These screenshots might help to get you an idea of how it looks. It works fine! Read the accompanying documents and download the tool from here:

See the attached document for the screenshots.

  • John ..  Gertjan's comment was if you wanted to start 'fresh'.

A straight forward upgrade routine as you described works fine as well.

  • Gertjan,

So by doing staged upgrade from 8.0 into 9.0 and then followed by migration to version 10, it is not going to affect the Exchange Server and the fileserver disk capacity right ?

because according to you " either export all archives to PST, import them in EV10, or export archives into mailboxes, goto 10" is space and time consuming.

  • Hello Jinesh,

You have to go to EV9 first before going to 10. How you set up the 10 environment is not really interesting. If you want to start ' fresh', you can either export all archives to PST, import them in EV10, or export archives into mailboxes, goto 10. Or, use 3rd party tooling to move archives from 8 to 10 directly. (TransVault/Archive Shuttle as examples)

  • We are running on EV 8 now and looking for upgrade to EV 10 as our email servers migrating to exchange 2010.

In our current setup we have a single EV server archiving for around 1000 mailboxes. For our ev 10 build we are about to make a clustered solution with two servers for EV and two servers for SQL.

Can any one provide steps to migrate from EV 8 to EV10.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for giving folks a look at the process.  I have used this 3 times now and each time went off without any problems.
