I'm using an eval version of the software... if that's what you mean - keys=license... Re: Unable to catalog old mediaUpdate: I was able to restore the data from tape with the manufacturer's driver as well as windows backup/restore utility. I've heard be6 is what windows used for backup but a slimmed down version... Still curious why the new one wasn't able to catalog though. If anyone has ideas for me to try let me know. Unable to catalog old mediaI have 3 tapes that I need to restore data from. I can get them to inventory and catalog without error, but when I the restore data option I get this error: "the selected media was not found in the catalogs. You must first catalog the media if you want to use it for restore options." I searched some of the forums, but I feel that searching for cataloging media will give me other errors and searching for "cataloging media that has been cataloged" won't work to find a solution. The server I have setup now is a new server. The old one was formatted. I am running an eval version of 11d until I get our license... The media shows up in imported media>backup exec and windows nt backup media Thanks for you help Backing up backup exec settingsI have just finally configured a virtual server with a trial (license purchase just around the corner) of BE 11d for windows 2003 and all of my settings are on that machine. Due to trouble getting the tape drive recognized, I have installed another trial on a physical machine. Is there an easy way to export all the backup exec settings and jobs and preferences? I am thinking I could back up the system state or the program files and restore that to the new server, but want to avoid that as I'm guessing it might not work. I looked through the menus and wizards, but found nothing that I could see - I searched the help and forums, but any search I do results in someone's post about a different backup job with the software, not how to backup the software. Is this part of the Intellegent Disaster Recovery option? How do I get that to be not grey'd out on my menus if so...? Thanks for your help
