Backup-to-Disk Creates New Media

I setup a Backup-to-Disk folder and set the media limit to 500GB.  I'm using this as a temp backup spot for some hourly SQL TRN Logs.  I only want ONE piece of media in my backup-to-disk folder.  I just found out that my overwrite protection settings is what caused BEWS to create another piece of media and use up all my disk space.   I have my overwrite protection set to 0 hours on the B2D media.  Is there anything else I need to do to prevent it from trying to create another piece of media?

verify that "Use overwritable media in target media set before scratch media" is selected.  If the other option (Use scratch before overwriteable) is selected, BackupExec will keep creating new BKF files until the disk space runs out (or the limit is met)
  • You said "until the disk space runs out (or the limit is met)".  What limit are you referring to?
  • The Disk Space Reserve (Advanced options tab)
