Cannot Remove Instance of Media Server (HELP)

The media server or the server that actually manages Backup Exec 2012 for our servers is not working right.   Some of the servers are backing up as intended but after we had a consultant wreak havoc on our SQL on that same server the backups have never runned right and I need to break this up and start over.

I was going to remove all instances of servers and then re-add them, however the main server that hosts this (media server) cannot be removed from the list.  Why?  Is there a way around this?
