Ejected Media still showing online

Hi,

when i eject a media from my ultrium drive, its still showing that the drive is loaded with the media. BE12.5 only shows me the correct drive status (media in or not) when i click on "inventarisieren" ( guess its called catalogue in english).

when i restart the BE services it shows me the correct drive status, but only till i change another media in the drive.

 

My question: is this behavior normal or am im missing something? (i´m new to backup exec 12.5)

     How are you ejecting the Media? Directly through the hardware or are you ejecting the media through the backup exec admin console? Additionally are you using the manufacturers drivers or backup exec drivers on the device.

    When you use a stand-alone tape drive, ejecting or inserting a tape does not update the drive status in BE.  You have to do an inventory of the drive to update the status in BE.  It has been this way since forever.
