How can I Export netbackup policy details in excel?

Hi,

I want to export all netbackup policy details like policy name, client name, policy type, active status, backup selection, schedule name, storage etc . In an excel format.

I can get this data in text format using bppllist command but it gives me all details of policy and if I am importing this data in excel it is taking time to remove unrequited data as number of policies are more than 150.

Is it possible to get any report in excel format from netbackup or opscenter? Please help me on this.

  • Hi Puneet,

Yes this is quite possible.  I've written a couple of posts regarding this - in particular please read my comment in this post:

    https://vox.veritas.com/t5/OpsCenter/Policy-Report-for-SOX-Audit/m-p/841065#M4548

This download was created in 2010, but I have used it on NetBackup versions up to 7.7.3. A big shout out to Satkay_Satish if he's still around for creating this.

I've documented everything to get you going, but if you have any queries let me know.  If this post solves your problem, please remember to mark it as solved to help others.

    Hope this helps,

    Steve

        Hi Puneet,

You would have to ask Satkay Satish who created this great little tool, to see if he's prepared to share the source code.

He has been active on Vox this year, so I guess he's still around.  Here is the link to his profile page:

You can send him a PM and see what he has to say regarding your query.

As per the previous post - you need to contact the author of the tool.
