At least as my IT auditors are concerned. thanks for your reply limiting User Credentials and rights can you provide any info / resource that will help me determine what are the minimum required user rights (for the windows users ) that i must provide for the various backup agents - files, exchange, sql, sharepoint i've read the ducmentation about the B/E Logon account and the default and the system - but it doesn't seem to really desribe what is needed. we are trying to secure access to servers and data - and would like to allow the MINIMUM security possible. currently - everything is DOMAIN ADMIN - and that's just not what we want i've tried domain user accts - but credential checks are failing left and right. thank you thank you SolvedError - Mount failed.I keep getting this message on our backup. System cancelled. I thought we set all media to overwrite protection "NONE" and that that would solve the problem. I've seen a few threads about setting the overwrite to 0 - but I didn't think this was possible. note: the backup was working fine until i tried to get fancy and set the overrwite to 5 days - since we use a m-t-w-t-f1-f2-f2-f3-f4-f5 backup schedule. but I am positive that the media set and media now indicated overwrite - none. any help woudl be apprecaited. thankyou
