With Selections highlighted on the left, change the option in the top right View format box to Text instead. Hope this helps. Chris Backing up Event Logs I have recently moved the location of my SBS 2003 Event Logs to a non-system drive as space was becoming an issue. I have now found that during the backup of the Event Logs in Backup Exec 10.1, the .evt filesseem to be copied to C:\WINDOWS\repair\Backup\ServiceState\EventLogs which kind of defeats the object of the exercise. I guess I could stop backing up the Event Logs but would prefer not to do that. Is there a reason why these are copied and is there a way to back them up to another location? Thanks for any help. Chris Push install DLO agent - RPC server is unavailable I have read up on the DLO agent and want to install it from Backup Exec 10d SBS to my clients. The easiest method is via push install (as opposed to individual install on each machine as administrator or logon scripts) but I get RPC server is unavailable when I try the push install. Windows firewall is disabled on the SBS server but enabled on each client, however Group Policy dictates that File and Print Sharing is enabled for local subnet. I have read that Push install is possible but in other Veritas docs say it is not possible with XP Pro SP2 clients. Please can someone clarify this and if it is possible, what do I need to check to ensure the server can install to the client? (Maybe some other specific firewall ports on the client?) Thanks Chris Re: Remote agent fails after SP3 upgradeHi, No it is exactly the same selection lists for each of the three jobs, they are scheduled to run on 6 days of the week in the specified time window. Any other thoughts? ChrisRemote agent fails after SP3 upgradeI run Backup Exec for SBS v10d and have recently installed the SP3 upgrade. Since the upgrade I have had a problem with one of my backup jobs. I run three jobs each evening from Mon - Sat. Every day works fine exceot for Friday when there is a problem with the second of the three jobs. The first job runs locally on the SBS server , the second runs on another W2K3 server and the thrid runs locally on Exchange. They are all full backup jobs. The problem occurs when the second job begins as the Remote Agent service is stopped on the SBS server. In the Event logs, immediately before the service stops, there are 40-50 errors caused by Symantec Tamper Protect, which is part of the SAV Enterprise suite which is installed throughout. It cites the tamper threat coming from the beremote.exe file in the Program Files dir and terminates the thread. I have tried adding the Backup Exec dir in Program Files as an exclusion to the Tamper Protect software, but to no avail. I don't understand why all other days run fine except the Friday job, this error can't relate to the tape surely! Has anyone else had any problems after upgrading to SP3? I did re-read the install notes for SP3 and noticed one line I didn't follow during the upgrade which was to upgrade from SP2 to SP3. I don't think my previous version had any service packs applied so maybe I shouldn't have jumped straight to SP3. This is odd however, as Microsoft service packs do not require sequential installation. Could this be anything to do with the problems I am experiencing? If anyone has any pointers, other than to uninstall and re-install, I'd be more than happy to hear them... Thanks in advance, ChrisDLO over VPNI want to setup the DLO agent on some workgroup machines outside of our domain connected via static VPN tunnels. The clients don't use the SBS server for DNS but they can ping the private IP address. I have installed the DLO agent from the network shared folder on the SBS server but it can't connect as it is looking for the server name rather than IP address. I have changed the DefaultMedia server in the client registry but I am still having problems. Please advise the best configuration for this scenario with regards to firewalls, account logins and client settings? (I have read document ID 280675 but that didn't appear to help!)
