My Veritas reseller dropped buy to have a look at the problem but we still had problems that whenever I put in a BackupExec 10 Key and a AOFO Key (to upgrade out of evaluation mode) the AOFO would go gray and be marked with an X. Just as a test my reseller put in what came up as a Not For Resale key and low and behold we could select AOFO and it worked in a backup with no problems. However he said he couldn't leave me with that key so begrudgingly I let him delete it and returned to a working but 60 day evaluation period. So if anyone has any ideas that would be great but also since it sparked my curiosity what exactly is a Not for Resale lisence? Is it something special that only Veritas Partners and/or Resellers can get or can you actually purchase such a lisence comercially? Is it possible to use such a key until such a time as someone in support can figure out why my BackupExec lisencing module appears to be FUBAR yet noone else in surrounding areas have had problems with their BackupExec's? Strangly enough I was one of the first to put my hand up for the v10 upgrades that were made avaliable. Maybe curiosity did kill the cat after all. :-) Thanks, Kevin-John BeasleyInstalling Advanced Open File Option on Media ServerHi all, I've been supporting BackupExec for a few years now but I've recently come accross a problem that has me stumped. I'm getting that error message about VSPAPI.dll. I've read the artical about it and the cause and have tried to do what it says. Unfortunantly I can't, despite entering a AOFO key I can't select to install AOFO on the next screen, it's grayed out. I took a couple of screenshots to show people what I mean. http://members.westnet.com.au/beasley/licensekeys.jpg http://members.westnet.com.au/beasley/installoptions.jpg Funny thing is that if I get rid of they keys I get evaluation mode with selectable AOFO. Thinking I might try to revert to evaluation mode just to see if AOFO will actually install sucessfully, might rule out a few posibilities. Anyone know if there is something I'm doing wrong or an easy way to fix it? If not where should I start digging? Corrupt install files, problem with Lisence Key's, Unsatisfied Option dependencies, etc all seam like fairly good candidates to me but it would be nice to sort it out the first time rather than get a new CD sent to me, then bitch at my reseller over not working lisence key's only to find that I never purchased what I needed in the first place. Thanks for all help provided, Kevin-John Beasley
