Data Insight Self SErvice Portal
Hello, I'm looking for guideance, help and understanding around the Data Insight Self Service Portal. More specifically use cases, how are you using this product? Another question: How can I schedule my workflows to happen on a re-occuring basis? Once the workflow is terminated as complete it seeems I have to create another workflow. Which in my mind could lead to a large number of workflows in the system. The documentation seems to be pretty light on this product. Hello, I'm working w/ a customer on a Data Insight implementation and a question the customer has, is there a way, or even a reason to limit the users that Data Insight imports through Active Directory. The customer has a large # of disabled accounts and or service accounts so we are wondering if in the AD import we could limit the users that it processes? Or even better should we limit the users the AD import processes? Thanks in advance,550Views1like0CommentsData Insight
I have a question. We are using Data Insight 4.5.1 on our SharePoint 2010 sites. We have a large SharePoint farm and do not scan all of the sites. We have loaded the WebApps to DI and within each WebApp we selectively scan specified site collections. In the DI 4.5 User guide (link below) under the Category "About Data Insight reports", there is a note (see below). We have not done a "full scan of a SharePoint server", only selected site collections. Does this mean that the reports are not accurate? In what way would they be inaccurate? Thanks, Connie https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/SDI/4.5/windows/productguides/html/sdi_user/sdi_ref_reports.htm About Data Insight reports Note: If a full scan of a filer server, share or a SharePoint server has not been completed at least once, the data in the reports may not be accurate.704Views0likes1CommentData Insight - backlogged files
We are running Data Insight 4.5, with multiple indexer/collectors doing file scans and Fpolicy across nearly 2 dozen netapps. Is there a 'best method' to address the lag between an event occurring (such as a file being deleted from a filer) and when the event shows up in Data Insight? We are running our indexers/preprocessors at 30min, but our file backlock for most things remains over an hour. We are not hitting much utilization on our collectors (averaging 3% cpu utilization and 40% memory on 64bit 12gb ram 8-core server2008r2). On the performance section, the backlog size is generally 30-100 files, 10mb-20mb.Solved1.4KViews3likes3CommentsDQL Query to find a specific filename
How do I look for a specific file? Ie what’s the field for “filename” ? Using DQL report, I can find all files with extension “url” What do I change to find a specific file (HELP_DECRYPT.URL) FROM path GET absname, size AS size_bytes, formatdate(created_on,'YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS Z') AS creation_time, formatdate(last_accessed,'YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS Z') AS last_accessed_time, formatdate(last_modified,'YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS Z') AS last_modified_time IF type = "FILE" AND extension IN ("url") SORTBY size DESC1.8KViews0likes1CommentDQL Use case
I have a potential opportunity for Data Insight with a focus around leveraging the Data Insight Query Language and am looking for additional help. I am starting to look at the Data Insight SDK guide to understand things but have one quick question (and perhaps many more difficult ones) The first question is, can I create variables/tokens within the syntax of the DQL and pass it through the Data Insight Report builder or do I have to leverage an outside process and call the SDK somehow? So the example is to query the Data Insight data for all shares with a specific name in it. Would I be able to token this within the Data Insight UI so each time the report ran it prompted me for the value or would I have to create separate form to pass this into the query? I am still gathering new information and will update this post when that is available.1.4KViews6likes1Commentdatainsight, showing contents in workplace > contextmap
Hi everyone, symantec data insight 4.5 has been installed in our environment. Within Datainsight we ´ve just implemented and configured filer and several file servers. The system works fine and shows all scanned directories in file servers. When workplace > contextmap shows file system structure from configured filer (vnx unified storage), many other directories (except currently existing once) are shown in the list. The directories could look like as below. What could this directories indicate? please see attached image. I am more concerned of directories that start with @GMT....1.6KViews0likes8Comments
