Clearwell v8.1 Hardware Requirements
Hello. I am gathering the Clearwell upgrade requirements (upgrade from 7.1.5 to 8.1). I have two questions: 1) What are the hardware requirements for 8.1? We do not have a Clearwell applicance. 2) Do I have to purchase a license for Office 2013 or is it included with the Clearwell 8.1 software? Thank you.Solved2KViews0likes4CommentsBackup and Restore from CW 7.1.2 to 7.1.3

Upon logging into (7.1.4) UI, my main dashboard has a popup window error. Am also getting same window every time I open a case and am taken to the case home. Window says "Failure: Unable to retrieve chart: HTTP request error" Services restart did not fix. Also getting other error : When trying to download export job: it says unable to dowload from "Clearwell web path".Unable to open this internet Site. It is not happening with all user, there are only few users who are facing this issue. Anyone else seen this? Best Regards, Deepak JindalSolved673Views0likes2CommentsClearwell Backup Best Practices
I know its probably taboo to post a quetsion like this and ask for information so many people arent willing to share (why I dont know), but I dont see why it hurst to ask. I am curious about best practices others are adhering to in backing up their cases/servers. Because of the current CW architecture, backups in my opinion are troublesome. Aside from random failures (i posted another topic about this) I have always found the process that is needed to fully backup and prepare for BR/DR to be very cumbersome with Clearwell. Do you agree? Hopefully v8 and the support of Virtualization will help this. But does anyone care to share how many days of backups they are keeping? Are you still doing node backups? And if so, why? Do you provide clients with specific terms&conditions about nightly backup windows, not allowing case/system access during certain times, and if not, how are you ensuring you get nightly backups and dont miss them because of clients accessing cases? How do you workaround/decide/manage taking backups vs processing or OCR'ing data overnight? You see where I am going with all this. There are more questions than this that I have been grappling with Clearwell for years. These are topics I find to be in constant flux, requiring constant revision, because there just doesnt seem to be a very efficient way of protecting/backing up the CW environment. Dont you agree? I thank you in advance for anyone willing to share, as I would be willing to do so in return. I am happy to conduct individual discussions privately if anyone is interested. If my contact info is not available in this profile, please respond here and we can coordinate a better way of communicating.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsClearwell RBAC (ROLE BASE ACCESS CONTORL)
ISSUE: We have many E-Discovery admins in a shared architecture - The problem is that they can add themselves to other cases. QUESTION: Can we make an E-discovery admin policy to only allow them to get to cases coded with XYZ********* cases? Can we allow them to create cases with a name code as well as only give out cases with their name type ex. XYZ can only get XYZ cases without being able to add to ABC cases or messing with ABC cases? The ideal: All XYZ type accounts that are e-discovery only can see XYZ cases and users, can build cases that are new. But can only be seen by XYZ. Likewise ABC users can do the same but can only act on items that are ABC based. Thank you!!!Solved654Views0likes1CommentClearwell - How to search just between two email addresses in Collections
Hi! Just purchased Clearwell and are actually starting to use it. I am looking to search just between two email addresses in the collections step. I can't find a way to do it. I can get everything from AND to the email addresses then filter it down in processing but that is WAY more data than I need. I just want to pull everything between two emails/custodians. Anyone know how to do this? thanks!Solved729Views0likes1CommentBest practice - run Collection or Case Folder Source discovery on PSTs
I have a number of PSTs that I need to bring into Clearwell. They are all within one folder structure, with a root folder, then subfolders for each custodian and their PSTs contained within. Can I have opinions on the best practice to bring them into Clearwell? Either: a) Run a collection task pointing to the share/folder where the PSTs are located; or b) Run a Case Folder Source discovery pointing to the share/folder where the PSTs are located. Thanks!Solved715Views1like3Comments
