Symantec Education is seeking candidates to take our new Symantec Certified Specialist beta exam for the Administration of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0for Windows. How do you register? 1) Visit Http://www.Prometric.com/Symantec 2) Select the Administration of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 (251-311) beta exam 3) Select the location of the nearest test center 4) Login How long will the exam take to complete? Please make sure that you have 3½ to 4 hours available for completion of the beta exam. How much knowledge and skill do I need to take the beta exam? Knowledge, skill, and experience vary from individual to individual. During the beta exam, Symantec seeks all candidates who are interested. This includes candidates who are considered above qualified, below qualified, and minimally qualified. How long will the beta exam be available? The beta exam opened for registration on April 7th and will close on May 5th. You must register for and complete the exam by the end of business on May 5th, 2008. What’s in it for you when you become a BETA candidate? There is an opportunity to view the exams in their entirety and to comment on each of the questions. Opportunity to take the Beta exam for FREE to the 1st 70 beta testers. hello All - Are there any books that i can buy for the symantec exams such as: the new backup exam for be 12? I checked the price lists and at 3500 for the instructor or the virutal classes, its simply out of my range. all of my certifications have come from self study and (many many many) hours in the lab and on the job. In Symantec site i have checked and found the certification exam is available only for 6.5. Can anyone please tell me that is there any certification exam for Veritas NetBackup for the version 6.0 for Unix as well as Windows ? How many certifications currently available ?
Veritas NetBackup certification advice
I have been thinking for sometime now about the Veritas NetBackup certification. I have been managing 3 NetBackup domains for more than 3yrs now. Even though my employer does not require me to pass the certification, I think it would be definitely a feather in the cap and also a good way to have a thorough review of administration and troubleshooting. From Curriculum path design, I think the VCS-274* should be my objective. I was thinking of reviewing the Administration Vol1 & 2 and Troubleshooting guide for the preparation. However, is there any resource where I can sample questions to gague where I current knowledge stands? E.g. 2 or 3 practice tests of even half the size of actual test would be nice. For those who have taken the exam for certification, and I know there are quite a few names of this community which come to mind, what pointers do you suggest for prospective students? * - Or is it VCS-275, as "Administration of Veritas NetBackup" bubble links to VCS-275, which has the title "VCS-275: Administration of Veritas NetBackup 7.7 and NetBackup Appliances 2.7".
