Office365 vs Enterprise vault
Hello all, My enterprise is looking at Office 365 as an alternative to the Vault software. I am looking to hear about others experiences regarding this usage. Has any of you moved to office 365 from EV and if so ,what has the experience been like. Just looking for the pros vs cons and any docs regarding why this is a good or bad idea.Solved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsMigrate Exchange 2010 Archived Mailboxes to O365
One of our clients are migration their Exchange 2010 archived mailboxes to O365. The concern is that when the users are migrated, it will break the link (stub) between legacy EV and destination mailbox (on Exchange online) which will leave the users unable to access the historical data. Is there a way for users to have access to their legacy archives while the mailbox is being migrated to O365? What are the migration options to maintain the stubb connection intact? Speaking to one 3rd party professional, he suggested that stubs lose connection will depend how the users are migrated from Exch to O365. What method people follow to ensure continuity of legacy EV system? Any document to support the above discussion would be appreciated.Solved4KViews0likes10CommentsMigrate Exchange to new domain requires access to archives
I have an EV mailbox archiving server and an exchange server in domain A and recently installed a new Exchange server in domain B. Domain B mailbox are being archived over the Cloud. I have recently migrated few mailbox from Exchange in domain A to new Exchange in domain B but would require these migrated users to access their archives sitting on EV server in domain A. If I understood correctly, all I need to do is to add the domain B Exchange in to EV in domain A, create a provisioning task (but no archiving task as this mailbox is being archived over the cloud) for it? Please stamp my understanding...1KViews3likes4CommentsEV Archived Data Move to O365

Hello, I am looking for some advice. We are currently on Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP5 running on Windows Server 2003. Our Exchange level is 2003 as is the domain level. We are planning to migrate to Office 365 in the near future and have been told the following: - Need to upgrade AD to 2012 level - Need to upgrade Exchange to 2010 SP3 minimum (These are projects we will be carrying out soon.) I could do with some advice on what we can do with our current vault setup. We are set to archive all items that are older than 1 month and have been told that you can move the mailbox to 365 easily but only unvaulted items. Can anyone suggest what the best way forward if I want to upload all of our archived mailboxes to 365? It was suggested that only the unarchived mails will be imported to 365 and you have to manually export to a .pst to upload the rest. Is this true? We have a huge amount of archived data and this would be very time consuming. Is there a way we can upload all people's archives without having to export them too? Is there a way of integrating Enterprise Vault with Office 365? What happens with the Journal? Any ideas or suggestions are very welcome. Many Thanks NigelSolved3.7KViews0likes3CommentsRegister for an INFORMATION GOVERNANCE SESSION at VISION 2012:
