Can not delete 64bit Index Location after upgrade all index to Elasticsearch
Hi all, I have just finished upgrading all my indexes to Elasticsearch (after upgrading to Enterprise Vault 15.0). When I attempted to remove all old index locations from the Enterprise Vault Administration Console (VAC) in order to delete the old volume from the server, I received the following message: --------------------------- Enterprise Vault --------------------------- This folder is being used by the Indexing Service to maintain active indexes. You cannot remove this folder until all the archives have been deleted from it. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- After investigating I realised that I are still index register in the SQL database ( EnterpriseVaultDirectory - IndexVolumeView). The archive these indexes report they only have elasticsearch locations and all of them are still empty. Is there a way to correct this issue? I need to return the empty volume.Tonaco_pt6 days agoModerator13Views0likes1CommentEnterprise Vault MPIP encrypted email decryption is not working
Hello, I`m testing MPIP email journal archiving for my client in Korea. And I found that MPIP encrypted document (like PPT, Excel, Word) can be previewed on Enterprise Vault Search but MPIP encrypted email isn't. I followed every steps on'Enterprise Vaultâ„¢ Setting up Exchange Server and Office 365 for SMTP Archiving' guide but that doesn't work. Can anyone help me?SolvedJungyu9 days agoLevel 2200Views0likes2CommentsNeed to programmatically restore saved EV shortcuts saved as MSG files
Scenario: Employee drags their outlook ev shortcut onto their desktop. This naturally saves the EV shortcut as an MSG file. The employee files these msg files into our document management system. Other colleagues can not open the MSG files or see the attachments, because the MSG is an EV shortcut and only the message owner has access. I wrote a script to retrieve new MSG files saved into the document management system and I can easily identify the message class. What I can not pull is the archiveID or the savesetID. Some folks said to try redemption, I engaged Redemption / outlook spy and they could not retrieve the archived or saveset ID. I need the extended mapi parameters or some method to extract this archiveID/Saveset ID to enable me to retrieve the original email and replace the EV shortcut msg. (I call this rehydrating). I'm surprised EV API does not have a command to help me with this...tawasiel16 days agoLevel 2943Views0likes2CommentsEV Vault Cache settings
Hi I have a couple of questions on Vault Cache I want to ask to get a better feel for the functionality and to check if my understanding is correct. The MDC (metadata cache file) contains what can loosely be described as the item shortcut? It contains the metadata of the message and the start of the content - correct? Is this based on the shortcut content as specified in the archiving policy (eg the first 500 characters) or is it a fixed number of characters regardless of what the shortcut body is defined as within the archiving policy? Should a user set an age limit of say 1 year for the download content, does the MDC file contain the metadata for the entire users archive but there is a separate 'content file' that will download the content for only the most recent years worth of archived items? When items in the content file become older than 1 year are they automatically removed? If a 1GB limit is set for the size of the Vault Cache - does this only apply to the content file or is it the combined size of the MDC file AND the content file? and if a 1GB limit is set, is there an easy way to determine the date of the oldest file in the users Vault Cache. I assume that as new content is synchronised, the oldest content is deleted to stay within the same 1GB limit? I understand the MDC can be 'renamed' to PST and viewed as a PST file? Does the same apply to the 'content file' - are the message items contained within this file readable should this file be compromised? many thanks in advance.KeirL18 days agoLevel 632Views0likes1CommentIssue using "Run now" option for archive task
Hi all I'm experiencing a strange issue on archive task on my 12.2 EV environment. If i lunch an archive task using the "Run now" option on a specific maibox the task run for long time ( i tested it asking to archive only 1 item) and after it finish in the report i found "0" items archive also if the "Future eligible items" is poulate with a numer greater than 3000. If wait for the scheduled archive task for the same mailbox during the night it works correctly. I've laready checked event viewer but no errors or warnings appear, checked the VSA and it's OK, no issue regarding backup mode. Also using dtrace i don't have any errors, seems it check every not archived yet mail in the mailbox and find a lots of them elegible for archive, but it don't do it. Only "strange" messages that i found with dtrace for every mail scanned are: {PropsItem::HasShortcutProps:#151} Shortcut properties are not present (incorrect MAPI type; expecting PT_STRING8). {MigratedDominoItems::IsMigratedDominoShortcut:#200} This msg is not a migrated Domino shortcut: Item does not have Domino shortcut properties. (ArchiveTask) <13948> EV:L {CPrioritizedItemTable::InsertRow:#295} (Age) - Table overflow The issue seems related only to a particular big mailbox (around 250GB), no other mailboxes impacted. regards DavideDavide_EVITA28 days agoLevel 337Views0likes1Commentstorage queue EVSQ Files not processed - how to handle/remove?
Hi folks, I found no documents about how to handle EVSQ Files that stay in the Storage Queue indefinitely because of a problem encountered while trying to process a saveset. There must be some way to either restore the contents back to the mailbox they came from or modify the EVSQ files (e.g. remove the offending savesets) to make them processable by the storage service. What is NOT acceptable is just leaving them in the storage queue; after all, these EVSQ files contain mailbox items that are in limbo - not in the mailbox anymore but not in storage/indexed either! I just know what my customer will say about EV if he ever finds out that actual data is permantly inaccessible... Regards, BertSolvedbert_geiger2 months agoModerator1.8KViews0likes5Comments
