Backup/Restore Dell Optiplex 390
I created a backup of my Dell Optiplex 390 and there are 3 total files. A Dell File, A Recovery File, and the C Drive. When I boot into the SSR 2011 I am clicking Backup Recovery then clicking next and I am loading the files in this order. (I am deleting the c drive partition before laying down the images) 1.Dell File 2.C Drive 3.System Recovery (making it bootable option checked) Am I doing this wrong? Does anyone know the correct order to lay down the images, and what options I need to have checked when doing a recovery on this machine? So far I have gotten a missing boot file error then telling me to ctrl+alt+delete+, The error I have gotten the most is a black screen with a blinking cursor...... I am stumped on what options may need to be checked within the 3 different files and which order to lay them down. Any and all support is much appreciated, if you need more details please let me know what you need. Thanks, Joshua3.1KViews2likes21CommentsNew to SSR - cannot add second machine
Hello - I have two windows 7 machines. I have Symantec System Recovery installed and running on one machine, with backups configured to a USB attached RD 1000. I have installed a second copy on the other machine - but I cannot add it to the list of computers on the first machine to begin backing up files on that machine as well. They are both networked via workgroup.....is there a setting I have to configure on the second machine in the OS to add it? I have an SBS2008 server, with SSR 2011. When we backup to an external USB drive we recieve the following error. This happens every night. I checked the external drive, the C and D drive images are created but the F: drive fails to backup. I manually ran a backup of the F drive and that completed with no problems. I have 2 Dell R710 Servers with WS2003 R2 SP2 after I configure them as a primary and secondary domain controllers I can't see the logical drives when booted from the Symantec BESR 2010 SRD. I see the logical drives just fine before I configure them as domain controllers when booted from the BESR 2010 SRD. Any ideas? I am running Symantec Platform and Solutions version 7 SP5 (management server) and BESR 2010 SP2 on all the clients. I am running Symantec Management Agent SP5. Normal backup job is a recovery point set. Base is created on Sat and incrementals are run M-F. Even though the backup has run successfully (and a backup file has been successfully created in the recovery point destination) all my systems prompt me to run a missed backup when I log in. If I click yes, a dialogue box appears allowing me to select a backup to run. The Last Backup date is either blank or contains a date several days or more in the past.604Views0likes5CommentsRecovery Point Set only creates a base
I am running Symantec Platform and Solutions version 7 SP5 (management server) and BESR 2010 SP2 on all the clients. I am running Symantec Management Agent SP5. Normal backup job is a recovery point set. Base is created on Sat and incrementals are run M-F. I have several Win2K3 servers that only create a base backup. I have opened a case with Symantec. They gave me an "orphan" patch. This has not solved the problem. I noticed the following in the .pqj scheduler file on the client: <LastBackup vt="7"> 1/11/2011 23: 0:21</LastBackup><LastExpected vt="7"> 1/12/2011 23: 0:10</LastExpected> If I change the LastExpected date to 1/14/2011 (or just advance it one day) for example, it will make an incremental when the job runs on the 13th. However, the LastExpected date will be changed to 1/13/2011 when the job completes. If left unchanged, a base will be created when the job runs again on the 13 th .824Views0likes12CommentsMigrating Domain Controller and Exchange Server 2007 on Windows Server 2003 Std. R2 SP2 x64 into new server.
Hi All, I want to migrate my existing server which is now running Domain Controller and Exchange Server 2007 on Windows Server 2003 Std. R2 SP2 x64 into new server with all same hardware except the SCSI controller difference (From PERC 6/i into SAS 5/iR). Is there anything that I should be careful or pay special attention into ? Thanks. (I'll be using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010)* with the restore to different hardware methods.Solved500Views2likes2Comments
