Editing Host file on Netbackup 5520 appliance
I could do with some help on what options are available to add entries to the host file on the 5520 appliance. I am familiar with using the CLISH and navigating to >>Network from the main menu and the using the following command: hosts add 10.0.0.1 nbutest.nbappliance.lab nbutest host show - will provide an output of information in the file. Is there anyway to access the the host file by going through Support>>Maintenance(Enter Password)>>Elevate I believe you can drop in to the normal Linux directory structure and navigate to \usr\openv\netbackup... But where is the host file located and what is is called since most Linux articles seem to refer to \etc\hosts I have tried to use vi and view the hosts & hosts.conf files located in the \usr\openv\netbackup\bin directories, but they do not seem to list the same info as what I see when running hosts show through CLISH. Any assistance would be appreciated with the above. Thanks In Advance9.5KViews0likes5Comments(CEP-18728) Veritas Content and Collateral Annual Survey - 2023

NetBackup 7.5.0.6 is the sixth maintenance release for NetBackup 7.5. It is a cumulative release containing fixes and content from 7.5.0.1 through 7.5.0.5. In addition, this release contains almost 600 additional fixes (bringing the total fixes in 7.5.0.6 to over 1700!) including the most commonly downloaded EEBs, several customer escalations, and internal engineering defects. NetBackup 7.5.0.6 includes the following proliferations and enhancements: YES, Windows Server 2012/8 is now supported! db2 10.1 (snapshot support; streaming support was added in 7.5.0.5) Exchange 2013 Hyper-V 2012 SharePoint 2013 SAP HANA client support - see this blog post for more information To download 7.5.0.5, please visit the following page: NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Download Links http://symantec.com/docs/TECH204644 (link is fixed - sorry about that!) This is a MAINTENANCE Release for NetBackup (as opposed to a Release Update) - it can ONLY be applied on top of NetBackup 7.5. (If you are currently running 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, or 7.1.0.x, you will need to upgrade to 7.5 before you can apply 7.5.0.6.) Published Technical Collateral Survey Results
Want to know what your peers in the information management industry are thinking about, how they use published Veritas technical collateral, and what they find the most valuable? We did too. So, we asked several industry professionals for feedback, and here is what they said. Thank you to everyone who participated in our CPEP survey! Understanding customer experience The importance of understanding the various experiences of Veritas customers spurred the NetBackup Technical Marketing Engineering Team (TME) to launch a survey asking customers and partners about their use of technical collateral (e.g., technical briefs, white papers, videos, etc.). Here’s an overview of the feedback we received: Top 3 types of preferred collateral: Technical brief User guide White paper/video Top 3 go-to places to find collateral: Google Veritas.com Veritas SORT (Services and Operations Readiness Tool) Top 3 collateral topics of most interest: How to guides Feature overviews Installation/upgrade support Top 3 core themes of most interest: On prem workload protection Cyber resiliency/security/ransomware Cloud Top 3 represented industries in the responses: Telecommunications, Technology, Internet & Electronics Finance & Financial Services Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals GEO distribution of the respondents: 45% AMS (Americas region) 36% EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa region) 19% APJ (Asia Pacific Japan region) The majority indicated their preferred type of collateral (e.g., white paper, video) depends on the context (e.g., deep dive, general overview, troubleshooting, etc.). The majority agree that collateral has helped in decision-making processes for purchasing Veritas products. We also conducted follow up interviews with some of the survey respondents who stated that they go to Google first, then the Veritas support portal, and SORT and VOX for specific uses (e.g., compatibility checks and seeing what others are talking about and interested in). Participants stated that they saw great value in CPEP and utilize documentation mostly to review in-depth information on specific features, or occasionally videos for general overviews (e.g., on the Veritas V-Bytes YouTube playlist).
