Add New Client to NetBackup 7.5

how to Add New Client to NetBackup 7.5? the client is windows server 2012 hyper v (exchange 2013 is hosted on hyper v). please help. i have lto 5 rw tapes ready and a dell tl2000 tape library. newbie...

    You firstly need to discuss NBU licensing with your management and how the Hyper-V should be backed up.

    There are different choices: Either NBU client software in each of the virtual machines, or using the Hyper-V agent.

    W2012 is supported as from NBU 7.5.0.6. Install binaries can be downloaded here:

    www.symantec.com/docs/TECH204661

    How to configure backup policies will depend on backup and recovery needs (which is a business decision, not for backup admin to decide).

    Contact your local Symantec reseller to explain the different licensing options.

    In the meantime, start reading... The Admin Guide is a good start.
    It will explain how to add backup devices, media, storage units, backup policies, etc.
    Next, read through the Hyper-V and Exchange agent guides.

    Please also find the 'Training' link at the bottom of this page and find your nearest Symantec training location. NetBackup is NOT an easy product if you do not have any training or a senior colleague to teach you....
