SSR 2013 backup failing, need debug logging
Our backups will fail every month or so. The error message is below: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\), (C:\), d-drive(D:\), e-drive(E:\). Error E0BB00B5: Snapshot error Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'OS error 2147754760.'. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071) I have googled and searched the Symantec forums regarding these error messages and nothing works. Our VSS writers are all stable and in good condition, the shadow copies are only on C: and they have been creating fine (7 am and 12 pm every weekday, 50 GB of storage, oldest copy is successfully deleted). Windows Small Business Server 2011 (which is Windows Server 2008 R2). SSR 2013 Small Business Server Edition 11.0.2.49853 Our backups are on weekdays, start at 9 PM and finish around 6:50 AM. We are backing up to external USB drives, a different one for each weekday. Nothing seems to be causing these failures; it happens with different USB drives, and with no clearly connected entries in the Event Viewer that have happened each time. I can't tell at what point in the backup process the backup is failing, that is, what file the backup fails on. How do I turn on enhanced logging for SSR 2013 so I can see what files are successfully copied during the backup process and at what time?I have only so far found instructions for Backup Exec, not SSR 2013.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsAutomatically assigning SSR 2013 license to Clients
Hi, we are using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 Managament solution and I was after a method of automating the assigning oflicenses to client pc's. Is such a thing possible, are there any SSR snapins or modules for PowerShell? If not what can be done to simplify the process? Can licenses be applied by organisation units in active directory?Solved647Views0likes3Commentsrestore registry of regedit

hi there, in summary, my only question is this: does "symantec system recovery 2013 r2" support the recovery to different hardware for windows 2003 r2 machines? please read the details to understand why i'm asking. thank you! i'm completely new to "system recovery 2013 r2", and i'm attempting to evaluate its use in restoring windows servers to different hardware. my first test case is using windows 2003 r2. i spoke yesterday with a sales engineer, and he said i would need to install the server version of sr 2013 r2 on the source machine, and then create the sr boot disk. i went to install sr, andgot the following warning: "This system does not meet the requirements to install the Symantec System Recovery Disk creation utility. The recovery disk creation utility feature is supported on Windows 2008 (and later) and Windows 7 (and later). Note: Symantec does not ship the recovery disk with System Recorery 2013 R2 and hence includes a utility in the installer to create a recovery environment." the sales documentation and the compatibilty list on the symantec website specifically lists windows 2003 r2 as supported, and the engineer i spoke with yesterday also said that it would work. so i went to look for the downloadable .iso instead, but i found a tech article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH225888) that specifically states that downloadable iso's are no longer provided. any guidance would be appreciated. --aaron1KViews1like3Comments
