EV.cloud with Office 365, how it works in the background from technical view ?
Hello All, I read the EV.cloud product documentation, but some things are not clear for me. For my understanding EV.cloud has no direct access to Office 365, and just work with the functionality of a journaling mailbox at Symantec. But how work the mailbox archiving from technical view ? The mailbox content archiving must by run via the journaling mailbox, but what about the user mailbox handling in O365 ? With EV "non cloud" the Users get mailbox content shortcuts to the archive, and the original Mail did not reside into the original mailbox because it was archived. But how is it in EV.cloud from User perspective ? Is the content in O365 also archived, and if yes how does this work technical without direct access to the Office 365 cloud ? Or is ev.cloud just a "mail duplication" feature which could be accesed via outlook plugin or something like that ? I could not find these information or deeper technical information via the symantec website, does anybody have more information which could satifie my questions ? Thanks ! I am researching an email archiving system for my company. Our reseller recommends EV. I agree that EV is a great enterprise level product but feel it might be too high end for our medium sized company. I am hesitant to deploy it due to the complexity as well as the high system requirements. We would end up with more EV servers than we have Exchange servers, which just seems crazy to me. We only have 2 on premise Exchange servers with less than 400 mailboxes and our total amount of email including journaled archives is around 12 TB. With that being said, I aminterested in EV.cloud especially since it saysno required hardware, software or client plug-ins are needed. However, in checking, there is very little information on EV.cloud. There have only been 29 threads created in a 2 year period with one of them asking how to move away from it.The consulting companies don't seem to have the experience or knowledge that they have with the on premise version. Is the product any good? I know Symantec's marketing makes it out to be a great product but would really like to hear ofreal world customer experience. But Enterprise Vault.cloud can archive Exchange 365 mailbox items andwith this EV cloud we can check archived mails on hand held devices as well. Now question is as inEV.Cloud wedontneed toinstall any hardware and software so what kind of licensing we need? Regards, SajidSolved3.3KViews1like4CommentsEV.Cloud config question
I'm trying to setup Vault.Cloud on Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010 clients. I have created a journaling contact and also an SMTP Send Connector. I then activated Journaling on our exchange server mailbox database. I'm unsure of what to do next. Should our Outlook 2010 clients see a .cloud folder or do I have to do something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thank youSolved2.7KViews0likes7CommentsFolder Sync with O365
Hi All, I have a small question about Folder Sync. Background: Many users in many companies worldwide, our company included, just love using Outlook as a filing cabinet. This can cause all sorts of issues in case a mailbox grows to 50GB+ in size. I was happy when I found Folder Sync since it would allow us todirect users to it and ask them to delete their emails after a certain period of time. However, it does seem that Folder Sync requires on-site Exchange servers. I really hope that I misunderstood as we don't have Exchange servers and are not planning on investing in one. Our mail service os O365. We already use Enterprise Vault.cloud but it doesn't catch emails being dragged from one mailbox to another. E.g.: Some users have access to 3-4 mailboxes, they move emails they receive into these mailboxes so Vault.cloud has no knowledge of these emails since it only captures sent/received emails. This is the probem the folder sync would fix. Just not 100% sure it will work. Could someone send some information my way? Thanks a lot in advance. AndrasSolved2.5KViews0likes3Comments
