Weird EV messages with blank subject for some users
Hi, we have some users who use Apple Mail with EV and they get strange (nearly) blank messages, with a blank subject line, every few days: Subject: Date: December 23, 2008 3:00:10 PM PST Message-Id: <D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443@EX01.YOUGOV.local<mailto:D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443@EX01.YOUGOV.local>> Accept-Language: en-US, de-DE Content-Language: en-US X-Ms-Has-Attach: yes X-Ms-Tnef-Correlator: Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="_002_D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443EX01YOUGOVloc_" Mime-Version: 1.0 Attached to this is a text file with this included: Subject: Date: December 23, 2008 3:00:10 PM PST Message-Id: <D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443@EX01.YOUGOV.local<mailto:D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443@EX01.YOUGOV.local>> Accept-Language: en-US, de-DE Content-Language: en-US X-Ms-Has-Attach: yes X-Ms-Tnef-Correlator: Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="_002_D325F772BEACFA4CAAD087712918FCD9018AF13443EX01YOUGOVloc_" Mime-Version: 1.0 Does anyone know what this is, why these only seem to appear in Apple Mail (not in Outlook) and how to get rid of it? I'm running OS X 10.8.2 and finally got to attempt authentication thanks to the release of EV for Mac 10.0.2.1057. Unfortunately the logins are failing. My credentials are correct. I found http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH165380 but I'm not clear on whether that's my problem or not. Strangely enough we do have a newly established one-way trust to another forest. I'm not crossing that though. My account is in the same domain as the Exchange servers and my mailbox. Does the mere presence of a one-way trust cause this issue? Any news on a forthcoming fix for the issue described on 165380? There is something I don’t understand about the compatibility for Internet Browser support on multiple platforms in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange OWA roadmap in supporting multiple Internet Browser versions such as Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Why would Symantec not build support for multiple Internet Browsers or even have a Mobile Device App for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone. I think the Enterprise Vault community would receive such a compatibility with open arms. I know I would! It will give multiple solutions throughout the company for customers with Apple workstations or other platforms where Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported. My question is: Why not? When? Are there BETA plugins to test? Thanks and regards,Solved1.2KViews0likes3CommentsUnable to connect to Vault on OSX 10.6.3
Hi Everyone, We're currently running MS Exchange 2007 while trying to implement Enterprise vault Sp3 to work with Mac OSX. Our desktop users are on • mac os x 10.6.3 • Entourage: 13.0.3 After installing the plugin, start up Entourage, everything looks fine, no errors until we try to archive an item. We get this error: Error: ""unable to get folder properties for the selected Items."" The mail client may be in offline mode or the network connection may be unavailable. Just wondering if anyone has come across this and found a solution? Thanks for your help. -SSolved999Views0likes6CommentsMac EV can't open shortcuts created by PC EV
I'm piloting the use of Mac's in my company's enterprise, and have come across a roadblock in EV integration. Our email backbone is Exchange 2003, and we use EV v9 to archive old emails. I've installed the EV v9 plugin on several Macs (OS 10.6.7) running Entourage 2008 (latest version), but I'm completely unable to use the plugin to restore an email which was archvied by my PC (running Outlook 2007, EV plugin v9). I select an email which I know to exist in the vault, click restore in the EV toolbar, and I get an error message stating "Unable to restore because you have not selected any archived items" Any ideas? I've confirmed that the EV plugin is connecting, as I can send an email to the EV archvie on my Mac, and confirm it's archvied on my PC. Searching the archive via the EV toolbar, and then restoring an email from the archive via the web interface both work on the Mac, but this is a cumbersome workaround. I tried rebuildign my entire Entourage cache in the hopes that would fix my issue, but no dice. The EV plugin is either not recognizing the 'stubs' in my Entourage Inbox as EV shortcuts, or it can't seem to use them .. adny advice woudl be greatly appreciated!Solved991Views0likes3CommentsEnterprise Vault File System Archiving with Linux and Mac
Greetings, We are evaluating Enterprise Vault (EV) File System Archiving (FSA) for our organization. We are currently using CIFS to connect from Linux and Mac systems to Windows file shares, and with many different version of Windows to the shares. Does FSA work in this environment? If so, could anyone point us in the right direction to white papers, blogs, etc. describing similar implementations. We the end userswere invited to a 2 hour meeting via webex with Symantec to show them how we use the environment and also so Symantec can show us some of the new website look Yes we did show you how we use it and also demonstarted to you other sites we found useful and other site layouts we found easy to navigate What we were shown was just the silver buttons on the top of the window and a slightly different version but in blue. I knowI was not asked about the new forum layout because if I wasI would have said NO. I, as did others, givemy opinion on how we would like it to look and we were told that our suggestions were helpful and would be taken into consideration The truth is we spent two hours on a call andall ourexplinations as to how and why we use the site as we do and also any suggestions we offered were ignored. Why even bothering asking the end user if you are going to ignore them and just go your own way. If this is how it will work I'll just go create my own forum and then make it available to the users here so they can actually get some work done because this is wasting our time. Anyone interested PM me and we can have our own forum up and running over the weekend887Views0likes4Comments
