How do I rebuild a whole device's hash?

The only ones I am aware of are --rehash which will rehash all indexes and of course --dirhash Build directory hash (use with caution) --filehash Build file hash (use with caution) but these are not at the device scope. But since it is a device I would not know which index to aim at. The NetApp fixes expected to conform to the Veritas changes in v6.3.1 HF1 are not expected until the patch version 14. In the meantime we anticipate upgrade to P12 for v9.8 Ontapi. Are there any issues anticipated with this version? Has Veritas Quality Assurance (QA) confirmed the 9.8P12 version for Ontapi will not cause DI any issues? I would like to confirm that our Storage Admins can proceed with this NetApp recommendation risk free. Thanks PixSolved1.3KViews0likes1CommentI do not see mention of the NFSv4 for Data Insight in the documentation or knowledgebase.
The documents released for the 6.1 version up to 6.1.6 of DI have no mention of 'NFSv4', 'NFS4' and in the SCL only NFS3 version seems supported. Are there plans to update to the latest version available in the coming 6.2 release? The known issues with the older version need be avoided. We would also like to utilize the enhancements of increased performance,File locking, the Delete bits, and benefits of security, mixed mode operations, while removing user group limitations. I have an ancient tape backup sysytem that I use as a redudndant data backup for my Netapp FAS2020 filer. It has worked flawlessly for 7 or 8 years, until a controller on the Netapp crashed last week. It was replaced and is running normally, and supposedly the same config was applied as prior to the crash. But ever since then my backups have been failing with Error Code E00846B: (Server: "DOCULEX") (Job: "NDMP-Policy 0001-Daily Backup") NDMP-Policy 0001-Daily Backup -- The job failed with the following error: The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent. Make sure that the correct version of the Remote Agent is installed and running on the target computer. If the server or resource no longer exists, remove it from the selection list. Edit the selection list properties, click the View Selection Details tab, and then remove the resource. I have deleted and recreated the items in the selection list, tried two different logons to the device, rebvooted teh media server, ascertained that the media server can ping the Netapp. I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.1.1KViews0likes2CommentsNDMP NetApp Backup Error - 0xe0001309

Hello I have a question to the SLP behavior with Replication Director on cDot Netapps. On 7mode Netapps it was possible to have multiple SLPs (daily, weekly, monthly,...) with the same destination volume on a backup netapp. For example. I have a daily SLP which replicates the VMs to a secondary site and I have a monthly SLP which does the same but also do a tape out once a month for long term retention. In 7 mode I had 1 destination volume for that. In cMode now the RD creates destination volumes based on SLP names. So If i have 3 SLPs I need 3 times the space on the destination Netapp. I wonder if no one else has this problem???901Views0likes4CommentsRestore NDMP Tape to Windows
I have Backup Exec 2010 R3 installed on Windows 2008 R2. This is our legacy tape backup solution before we went to a disk based system. I have hundreds of tapes and keep Backup Exec around for old restores. We used to have a NetApp with CIFS shares and backed them up to tape via NDMP backups. The NetApp has been replaced with a new Nimble SAN. I am trying to do a restore of files from the NetApp tapes. Since I don't have a NetApp anymore I am trying to restore to a Windows box. I get the error below. How can I restore NetApp NDMP tapes to a Windows system? e0001315 - An invalid destination was specified for the redirected restore. Ideally should each NetBackup policy have three schedules? Full Backup (NDMP level 0) Cumulative Incremental Backup (NDMP level 1) Differential Incremental Backup (NDMP last level +1<9) For example I have an NDMP backup policy with a single volume. I run #1 the first week,#2 the second week, and #3 the third through nineth week. Does this make sense? We have NetApp cDOT 9.1, NetBackup 7.7.3 (configured for CAB).
