I just wanted to post a quick thing on this forum and to say congrats to mr Tony Sterling on having reached 1000 solutions! I'm not entirely sure who on connect has the most solutions reached, however 1000 is pretty impressive. With 1000 solutions out of 4,600+ comments, that means well over a quarter of his comments in these threads results in being the right answer! Good job dude :)1.5KViews3likes9CommentsFuture Challenges for Retention Management
I hope 2015 has got off to a good start for you, obviously it did for us since we got 11.0.1 released on the first week of the year and you can find out more about it on this post. But with 11.0.1 completed, it means that our focus is now firmly on what happens next with future releases, we're certainly not short of ideas but something we believe is important for customers is retention management and are hoping that you can help us with some research we're doing in this area. Retention Management Research - We believe this is an important challenge that our customers face, being able to effectively manage the growth of data across all content sources (not just the archive) is a problem everyone has the deal with. We want to make sure we evolve the capabilities of Enterprise Vault and other products to solve this challenge so would be very grateful to get your input on this subject. We know customers want to evolve retention management beyond just archiving something and keeping it for x number of years, there's an ever increasing amount of complexity about understanding the value of your data, who it belongs to, what the business relevance is and where it should be stored. So we need to collect a lot of views on this topic from a cross section of our customer base from all industries & geographies so please spare 10 mins if you can to help us. Since this survey is very specific to retention management, you might not be able to answer all the questions so would be very grateful if you could forward this to perhaps your storage manager, records manager or other teams who are looking at the data lifecycle management challenge. To complete the Retention Management Survey:http://bit.ly/lcrms2015B Thanks Glenn354Views2likes0CommentsTony Sterling has reached 2000 solutions!
Title says it all, but congratulations to Tony Sterling for reaching 2000 solutions! I said this last time when you hit 1000 solutions, but surely you have to be the member with the most solutions now surely?! Anywho! Congrats dude :)1.2KViews2likes10CommentsA Consolidated View of the Release Notes for all V9 Versions
A Consolidated View of the Release Notes for all V9 Versions If you want to peruse all of the fixes & features that were introduced across all versions of V9 then please have a read of the following article. You can download a version of the update.htm file we normally ship with each release that will help you easily peruse all the update files from a single & easy to navigate file. However, this is very much a trial that we want to try out and get your feedback on, we need to establish if this is something that our customers & partners will value. http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/consolidated-view-all-ev9-update-files380Views2likes1CommentWhich option we choose for upgradtion/migration path
Dear All, Currently we are running on EV 9.0.3 and on same hardware we are having EV SQL DBs. For next phase, whether we should go for migration of 9.0.3 on 64 bit hardware along with SQL database . or we should go for migration of 9.0.3 on 64 bit hardware and seperate SQL server simultaneously. or We should first seperate SQL server on seperate server on 32 bit or 64 bit, running ev server on same Hardware of 32 bit. ( only SQL server migration) and then migrate EV from old hardware to new and same time upgradinging it to 10.0.4. Or you guys can suggest any other good options Please revert. Hi All, We are in the process of upgrading from EV9 to EV10 and in a seperate project, migrating to SQL 2012. In the EV compatibility charts pdf it lists: I want to hear if anyone is/has tested this and what they found. I would also be curious if anyone has heard any updates or news on this. The PDF is dated 8/24/2012 so it is relatively up to date.Solved687Views1like3Commentssharepoint archive restore queries

We all use small useful tools now and then. QUADROtech is happy to share some of the small utilities we use on a day to day bases. When using a GC with Enterprise Vault, you never know what is the fastest GC to query. This small simple tool queries all Global Catalogs in the current forest and returns back a list of GS’s it found and the speed. Download and enjoy... http://www.quadrotech-it.com/products/evtools/command-line-utilities/ Peter476Views1like1Comment
