Error message 0xe000fe0b when backup up systemstate
Hello, we have migrated our Backup Exec 22.1 server to a new physical server (2022) with Backup Exec 22.2 (latest version). After that we updated the agents on the clients. Everything is working fine except one server, which is a DC. Here are the error messages: Final error: 0xe000fe0b - An attempt was made to perform an operation on an object that was not open. Data for \\xxxxxxxxxx\System?State\_SharedHardlinkData_\cecc3dcf.20000.71264 is corrupted. Reboot of the server, reinstall of the agent didnt change anything. vss list writers is good. Do you have any hints? Greetings ChristianSolved2.8KViews0likes2CommentsBackupExec 16 doesn't delete expired system state backup

We are a schoolhouse, so I'm sure that I am using Backup Exec and VMware differently than most organizations. With that said, I have over 2800 virtual machines to backup across 16 ESXi 6.5 servers. I NEED to be able to backup the existing VMware snapshots as these are used to "reset" VM's to various states for classroom use. Currently, Backup Exec will back up and restore the VMs just fine, but we lose the snapshots. The purpose of the VMware snapshots is to be able to quickly "reset" a virtual machine to a known good state. I do NOT want to have to have multiple backups of each VM and try to restore from tape every time a student makes an error. Right now, instructors can go into vCenter and reset the VM within about 15 seconds. Any thoughts/ideas?2.4KViews0likes4CommentsBE2014 and Vmware 6.5

I am having issues with BACKUP EXEC 2016 getting stuck at System State during a full backup of server to a NAS drive. The clock is still ticking but the backup is going nowhere. I've had to stop backup exec services in order to abort the backup. After a few attempts with no success, I decided to backup just the System State component and nothing else (for testing purposes) but it seems to get stuck at the same point - System State --> System Files. These are the following steps I have tried with no luck yet. - Updates for server and BE16 right up-to-date. - Reboot server a few times. - Tried a different backup drive NAS-2 drive and external USB drive. - Enable/disable Advanced Open File option using Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider. - Backup drives are empty when backing up with 2TB capacity. - Run vssadmin list writers. No issues all "State: [1] Stable" and "No error". I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out why trying to perform just a stock standard full backup can be so difficult to achieve. Open to any suggestions on what the problem could be. Cheers :smileyhappy: I have attached a log file of backup after it being aborted.1.9KViews0likes4CommentsSAN Mode Transport
Hi All, I am planning to setup SAN transport mode to backup the VM servers and shared folders on my SAN Storage directly to tape thru fiber channel. Here is my current environment: The ESXi Host is connected to the SAN Switch and the LAN Switch. The SAN Storage is connected to the SAN switch. Here is my plan: The Backup Exec Server (physical) will be connected to the SAN switch and LAN switch. The FC tape Library will be connected to the SAN switch. 1. Can someone confirm if my setup is correct? 2. If I need to backup other physical Windows server, how the data pass thru? Physcial server > LAN Switch> Backup Exec Server>SAN Switch> tape library ? Please see the attached diagram. Thanks!Solved1.7KViews0likes3CommentsTransfer Rate issue
Hey everyone, Quick question - possibly a simple fix. I run a staged backup that does a differential M-TH and a full on Friday each with their own drive. The transfer rates for most of these jobs fall between 1800mb/min to 3000mb/min except for my Thursday differential that instead runs at only 850mb/min on average. I am not sure why there is such a discrepency here considering the drives are the same, and the backup's are set up the same. I understand that the thursday differential will be the largest of them and there is additional time that must be allotted to it for that reason but the transfer rate shouldn't be effected. Could it be as simple as needing to format the drive? Are there some other options I can look into? Thanks.1.7KViews0likes5CommentsBackup Exec provides Day 1 support for Microsoft Windows Server 2019

I am usingSmall Business Server 2011 Standard and Backup Exec 2010 R3,Backup verify is running extremely slow suddenly. The data is backed up to an external Hard disk, It used to take 1.5 hours to finish a daily backup job (~300 MB/mins)but it took 4 hours and then even went to 46 hours(7-15 MB/mins). Data size is similar as usual. All backup folders are excluded in Symantec Endpoint. I tried to run backup job to another local disk (instead of external Hard disk), speed still the same. Is there any solution for this? Thank you.1.6KViews0likes5Comments
