unable to install BEWS on remote SQL server
I am unable to install BEWS using remote SQL option. When i give <remoteSQLserver>\DB name, it fails. On the same server, i am able to connect remote SQL via other apps and SQL mgmt studio. Does BEWS support installation on remote SQL server? or only local SQL is supported?
Sytos Premium for OS/2
Hi, I'm presently experimenting with some legacy tech and I'm having fun getting to know OS/2 again. I previously used this in the mid-90's whilst at University in the UK. Finding OS/2 tape backup programs has been incredibly challenging, but one of them that I keep coming across is Sytos Premium for OS/2. Sytos Premium was originally created by Sytor but was sold first to Arcada, then to Seagate, and then to Veritas as part of the Seagate Software acquisition. One of the last known versions of Sytos Premium was Sytos Premium 2.2a and its installer is included on a genuine Veritas Backup Exec 7.3 CD that I have. Unfortunately my genuine Vertias Backup Exec 7.3 is for Windows NT, and the provided serial number doesn't work to activate the version of Sytos Premium 2.2a that's included on the same CD. Does anyone know if Veritas still provide serial numbers for Sytos Premium? I'm hoping it will work with my Iomega 2GB Parallel Port tape drive, but the installer won't proceed without a valid serial number so I don't have any way of confirming. Backup Exec Office 365 Tenant not showing Sharepoint Online resources
Hello - I am running backup Exec with a trial license to backup my Office 365 tenant exchange server and Sharepoint sites. I have followed the instructions for adding the tenant, but the only resource that appears in BE is my Exchange online implementation - the sharepoint sites do not appear. I have tried removing and re-adding the tenant, but that does not solve the issues. I am running BE Version 22.1 Rev 1193 on an Azure Windows 2022 Datacenter virtual server. I have an external hard drive full of .bkf files made with Veritas BackupExec software in 2008, that I would like to investigate to see if they have backups of files that have since been overwritten. We stopped using that software prior to 2010 and its program files have long since disappeared. The disk has Changer.cfg and Folder,cfg files. Anyone know how to examine/recover old .bkf files without paying further (or at most minimal) tribute to Veritas? Thanks!
Backup Exec Migration fails Error 1602
When migrating Backup Exec V22 from Windows Server 2012R2 to a new machine running Windows Server 2022, the migration assistant fails giving an error code 1602. I am using an admin account with all the necessary privileges; it fails at the very end of the deployment. All earlier verifications seem to pass. What are the common reasons this would fail?

hello i have 2 tapes with old Novell data i ran the inventory and then catalog but at the end i get a message saying backup set may not contain data. if i right click on the media i see some files should i be concern or do i have to enable something in the catalog action in the options maybe ? Regards
