Problem description : Backup failed with error code 71 (EXIT STATUS 71: none of the files in the file list exist). The server rebooted automatically on 28 th march and after that the backups are failing. The network drives are Netapp storage Shares and it is mapped to the client COLLECTIONSRV. The drives are accessible from OS using the user “USER1”. The netbackup client service is having the logon credentials of user “USER1”. In the policy the “ Backup Network drive” option is selected. The path is also specified properly. Also tried with the mapped drive letter “Y:\”. But the backups are failing with the same error code. The server has been rebooted manually but still the same issue. Good afternoon, We are currently experiencing an issue when attempting to backup one of our servers. We are running full backups on 7 Windows 2008 servers, but one is failing when it comes to back up the system state. The error is reported as: - AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\<SERVER>\System?State". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). V-79-10000-11223 - VSS Snapshot error. The Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshot provider that you selected cannot snap this volume. Select the default snapshot provider, and then run the job again. The following volumes are dependent on resource: "C:" "X:" . The issue appears to be "X:" - this is theDVD drive on the server and obviously VSS isn't able to snap it, and this is the only server on which this is apparently a dependent resource.I'm prety sure it shouldn't be listed here at all? I have checked in the seemingly obvious places (I'm not much of an expert with BE) to no avail, would anybody know how to resolve this and remove X: as a dependent resource? New install of Backup Exec 2014, have installed the Windows Agent on a VMware virtual server. Last 3 nights we have been receiving the following error in the Security Event log: Event 4625 An account failed to log on. Subject: Security ID: SYSTEM Account Name: <LOCAL SERVER> Account Domain: <OUR DOMAIN> Logon ID: 0x3e7 Logon Type: 4 Account For Which Logon Failed: Security ID: NULL SID Account Name: <ESX Admin account> Account Domain: Failure Information: Failure Reason: Unknown user name or bad password. The <ESX Admin Account> that is being used is setup properly in the Backup Exec Media Server under logon accounts, but it is used for accessing the ESX hosts themselves, not the guest servers. That account exists only on the ESX servers, not as a user account in the local domain. The guest server should be using a domain account setup specially just for the Backup Exec system and that is also setup as the default logon account. This server, <LOCAL SERVER>, is actually backed up at 7PM and displays no errors and is successful. The above error occurs about 4 hours later and no active jobs involving this server are running. I have seen this same issue on 3 other servers, doing the exact same thing. Any ideas on what is going on? Note that this issue is not preventing jobs from being ran, but it is showing up in our security logs as a failed attempt for a "special access account" and our auditors see this and are questioning why it is happening. This is the reason I need this resolved. Thanks.2.8KViews2likes8CommentsCAPI2 - 513 : Cryptographic Services failed while processing the OnIdentity() call in the System Writer Object.
Hi, I am running BE12.5 SP4 on a W2003 Server to backup a W2008 file server. On that W2008 file server I got a multiple error in Windows application log: CAPI2 - 513 : Cryptographic Services failed while processing the OnIdentity() call in the System Writer Object. I have checked Symantec doc id327192 (http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/327192.htm), but all security settings are ok and the SystemWriter *is shown* in vssadmin and the buckup job does not fail. Anyone any idea how to fix that? Cheers Dirk3.3KViews1like4CommentsClient-side dedupe fails on 1 computer
Media server: WS2008 R2 SP1/BE2012 V-ray SP4 Remote servers: 1 physical WS2012, 2 virtual WS2012, RAWS installed and patched. Backing up at guest level to a dedupe device. Backups of the physical and one of the virtual machines complete successfully. The other virtual machine completes with this exception: Client-side deduplication is enabled for this job, but it could not be used. Please check this link for additional information: http://entsupport.symantec.com/umi/V-79-18273 The problem server has never worked with dedupe. I have followed the steps in http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH77683. Or, at least, the subset of them that apply to BE2012.No change. Restarted BE services on media server and problem server. No change. Disabled both firewalls; no change. Here is an excerpt from ADAMM.LOG that shows the 3 servers during the most recent BE media server services startup. Hello, My company has a Windows 2008 Standard SP2 server running Backup Exec 2014 with multiple servers running the remote agent on Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2 (as well as other OS's). We have been having an issue the past 2 weeks with our 2003 VM's specifically. One by one the remote agent has started crashing and will keep crashing every time BE tries to communicate with it until we reboot. The servers give the following error when the crash occurs: Event ID 259 A process crash has been detected. Faulting application: beremote.exe 14.1.1786.1059 Faulting module: beclass.dll 14.1.1786.1059 Fault offset 0x9a3c1 Exception code 0xc0000005. For now it looks like the issue goes away after a reboot, however we are not really interested in systematically rebooting every 2003 server that eventually has this issue. The jobs were functioning perfectly fine before, and there were no changes made in the past month or so that we could see as having caused this change. I have a case open with Symantec but they are generally not interested and not sure what is happening. Has anyone seen this before, and if so do you know the cause?549Views1like1CommentBackup Exec 15: The operation failed because the vCenter or ESX server reported a problem creating or accessing more files needed.
