OST and storage server creation
Hi, Im trying to create an OST disk pool and although the storage server is created successfully with the following command: nbdevconfig -creatests -storage_server<datadomain_name>-stype DataDomain -media_server <media_server_name> but it fails when tried to add the media server as a data mover with the following command: tpconfig -add -storage_server<same data domain name as before> -stype DataDomain -sts_user_id <user> -password <password> I have logged straight into the data domain with the supplied credentials and it gets in fine. I've checked its not using a mix of FQDN and shortnames by making everything local, even on the data domain, ive restarted nbrmms on the media server a few times so I'm bit at a loss to what to try next. The error I get is: Failed to open server connection to type DataDomain server scodd1: Error = 2060046 Authorization failed for OpenStorage server scodd1 Im using netbackup 7.0.1, DataDomain OS version is 4.9 and the OST plugin is version 2.5.1.0-326737. My media server is RHEL5. Could it be that I'm using too new a version of the OST plugin? I find it odd its happy to create the storage server but wont pass credentials. There was nothing I could see in the release notes to say the version of the OST plugin (which is the newest stable release) wouldnt work with 4.9 but maybe im wrong. Does any have experience of these versions? Thanks in advance for any help given. RobertSolved4.1KViews0likes4CommentsBMR Backup Hang-Not moving

Guys, I backup db2 using NBU 7.5 with a script and it all backups fine. Now I need to restore it to the same server under as a different database on the same server. I looked all day long and I am completely confused. I have checked the following sources but nothing: 1. NBU DB2 Admin Guide for Unix, Windows and Linux. 2. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0402chong/#figure28 3. http://www.ebenner.com/db2dba_blog/?p=594#toc-documentation I wonder if there is a straight forward script outthere or step-by-step that I can follow to do my restore. I want to place the restored db into the following directory /backup. Can I just modify the db2_restore sample script to accomplish this? I've tried to use the NBU recovery wizard but it does not work since I cannot login as the db2 user. I am confident it is pretty simple, and I am just missing that "check mark". Please help! Hi everybody: In first place thank you for read this discussion, I'm very list woth this problem and can't find a solution. My situation is the following: I have a NBU7.0.1 Master Server installed in a RedHat Enterprise Linux (mpavlapsvr005_nbu), with some clients installed and running perfectly. Now I have newRedHat5 and AIX machines in the same subnet. I installed this new machines without problems but when I trie to do backup, the job fails with a 58 code error. This machines are Virtual Machines over VMWare, but we want a standar FS backup. All the test that appear in the Troubleshooting guide was passed (telnet to the port, name resolving,...) but don't do backup. Checking the configuration in the machines I found that there is no configuration in the inetd.conf (AIX) and xinetd.d (Linux), but the proccess are started how standalone.
