Universal Restore
Hello all, This is my first post ever to a forum and I believe it's a bit of a problem. I work for a small IT Support firm. We have a customer that has a few C&C machines that run from the blueprints and software off ofWindow 7 machines. We were notified bymanufacture of the machines there is a voltage flux in the machines that are prone to destorying the PCs connected to the machine. Our customer would like us to take an image of the computersand be able to reinstall the images taken on new hardware, computers that have different hardware configurations, all without losing any information, programs andcomputer OS. I'm looking for ideas on how this can be done. I've read it can be done, just not sure how to approach the problem, so I'm looking for some ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved3.4KViews0likes1CommentVersion upgrade of Replication Exec Windows Server v3.1 License

Pairs are running, logfiles indicate the service is running fine on both sides, the database is accessible. I could not find any related information. Thanks for the help. Hello support, I am here again to find out what Symantec product i can use to do replication across two to three sites. I need some help. Thank you for your anticipated assistance2.8KViews0likes4CommentsReplication Exec service initialization failed. : Unable to resolve a name to an IP address.
I have VERITAS Replication Exec 3.1 SP1 with Hotfix 7. I recently rebuilt my Replication Exec server from scratch to new hardware and changed the Replication Neighboorhood. I am having problems reinstalling the Replication Exec Agent on my agent computers now. After I uninstall completely and reboot, am I able to reinstall the agent but the "Replicatin Service Agent" service does not start and the agent computer does not appear in the Replication Exec Console. If I try to restart the service manually i get this event in the Application Log: Event Type: Error Event Source: Replication Exec RSA Event Category: None Event ID: 1030 Date: 2/6/2008 Time: 1:49:43 AM User: N/A Computer: Description: Replication Exec service initialization failed. : Initialization failed. : Internal error: Unable to resolve a name to an IP address. I can ping the RMS server by name or IP from the agent computer so I am confused by that error. If i use the Replication Exec Service Manager I am able to Restart all Services but again, the computer does not appear in the Replication Exec Console. When reinstalling the agent, I have tried changing the RMS server name to the IP Address instead of the name but to no avail. I have run out of options. Can anyone help? Note: This problem only seems to happen on machines that were previously part of another Replication Neighboorhood. If so, the reinstall often causes this issue. I have no issues on machines that have never had Replication Exec agent installed before.2.3KViews0likes6CommentsUsing on a workgroup
Hi there, a simple problem really...wonder if someone can help. Ive installed replication exec on windows server 2000 SP4 and then the client on a winXP Pro PC. I wish to test replication between the two. Both server show up on the server 2000 comp as online, however trying to access the winXP Pro computer from there results in it asking me for logon credentials. There is no password, just a username for this WinXP computer. However it doesnt accept the username and repeatedly asks for logon credentials. What do i do? it must be something simple ive missed. Things tried: - Entering the workgroup into the domain field. - leaving the domain field and password field blank. - creating a new user on winXP with administrative rights and with a password. - entered in the new username and password all result in the same repeated logon credentials box2.3KViews0likes10CommentsErrors with Veritas Replication Exec (Event ID: 1027)

I am new to Ghost. I have two hard drives on my pc. I have tried a number of times to copy the C: drive disk to the spare disk so I may use it to boot the computer in case the current hard drive fails. Everything seems to go well, but when I remove the current disk and replace it with the new disk I created with Ghost, the boot process get to the point of showing the Windows logo, and that is has far as it goes. Can someone offer some advise on what I am doing wrong?2.2KViews0likes1Comment
