Rename Backup Exec 2014 Server

    Hi,

     

    At the bottom of the TN below, it states that there are no manual changes required on the media server from 2014 and up:

    I would assume therefore that you could change the name of the media server and that would be all that's required, but for me personally I'd still go through the remote servers to make sure they can communicate correctly.

Oh Okay! I just wanted to get a little clarification before we did our change in our production enviroment!

 

Just curious as to how the remote client would know the servers new hostname without having to tell it. We are keeping the same IP address just changing the DNS/Hostname.
