Hi, We are currently using Enterprise Vault v10.0.2.1112 for Exchange, SharePoint and File Shares (FSA). Due to issues and concerns we are now considering dropping the SharePoint and FSA components and only retaining Exchange (maybe even dropping that). Can anyone advise on/recommend some UK Partners who can assist us, as i'm sure most of our issues/concerns are down to our set-up and not the product itself. The sweetener for any partners will be the potential consultancy if we decide to stay with Enterprise Vault and upgrade to the latest release, and the possibility of procuring and installing additional Enterprise Vault add-ons. I'm running OS X 10.8.2 and finally got to attempt authentication thanks to the release of EV for Mac 10.0.2.1057. Unfortunately the logins are failing. My credentials are correct. I found http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH165380 but I'm not clear on whether that's my problem or not. Strangely enough we do have a newly established one-way trust to another forest. I'm not crossing that though. My account is in the same domain as the Exchange servers and my mailbox. Does the mere presence of a one-way trust cause this issue? Any news on a forthcoming fix for the issue described on 165380? T.I.A.Solved1.2KViews0likes6CommentsSharePoint Connections anyone?
Who all is attending the upcoming SharePoint Connections conference in Vegas, Nov 1-4th? If you're going to be there, make sure you stop by the Symantec booth to see a product demo and speak to product experts. We also have a vendor speaking session where we'll talk about Exchange and SharePoint support - more details to come. Let us know if you'll be there!502Views0likes0CommentsExpiry on a Centera - Governance Edition
We currently have EV 7.5 SP2 (upgraded since KVS, and EV 6.0 SP3) archiving to a Centera (Goverance Edition) and a replica at our DR location. Up to this point we have wanted to keep everything forever. Management has made the decision that we only need to keep the past 3 years. We are exploring storage expiry and have many questions. Here are our configs: - Governance Edition Centeras (primary and replica) - Vault Store Partition retention properties - Never - Expiry - Never run - Retention Categories - 5 years So my question is, are we able to run the Expiry in report mode and trust that the "number of items to expire" will run as it suggests or will the deletes get blocked by the Centera? Also, is there any way to see a history of the Retention Category value? I know that this value (retention period) is retroactive and I believe it is stamped on the C-Clip when it gets ingested into the Centera, but how can I see if/when that value was changed in the Admin Console? I tried simulating in my test environment but receive 6605, 6761 and 6883 Storage Delete errors. Lastly, in the Expiry process, does EV remove the item from the database, then the index, then the storage or does it check the storage first and fail if it hasn't reached it's retention period? Thanks, GregSolved1KViews0likes4CommentsWhat version of SharePoint are you running? Upgrade plans?
What version of SharePoint are you running? In our webcast yesterday (watch the replay HERE), we were suprised that so many folks were still on MOSS 2003 versus MOSS 2007. Are the 2003 users waiting for 2010 to be released or is your upgrade path going to go to 2007 first and then 2010 later?979Views0likes4CommentsWhat's the demand/use case for manual, data based, or archiving versions from SharePoint?
Have you taken a look at the videos we've posted to the SharePoint backup and archiving group? Join the group to watch these short, all-demo videos on manual archiving, archiving based by date, and turning on version pruning. Move files off your SharePoint servers, out of SQL and onto lower tiered storage. This will free up your storage, improve SQL performance while maintaining access to archived SharePoint files. What do you think, useful?354Views0likes0Comments
