Proxy Vs Phantom
I am trying to understand how Proxy and Phanton works. From my understanding , if we want to use NIC resources in diffrent SGs, You create a dedicated SG for the NIC and use that Resource in other applications as dependency. Am I right? How about Phantom works?Solved4.4KViews2likes7CommentsResource goes offline
Hello, We are managing few applicaitons using VCS, but one of the application needs to restart manually every day, but we don't do that. Applicaiton team restart the application outside the cluster and since the resource is not ciritcal, application goes to offline. Because of this our SG always shows as partial online. We don't want to show the resouce as offline since application is manually started, how can we make the resource online automatically? We don't want to see SG as partial offline as well. Thanks in advance.Solved3.1KViews2likes10CommentsVCS Error Codes for all platforms
Hello Gents, Do we have a list of all erro codes for VCS ? also if all the error codes are generic and are common for all platforms (including Linux,Solaris, Windows,AIX) Need this confirmation urgently, planning to design a common monitoring agent. We have long been able to create new VCS resource attributes using hatype and haattr commands. We would like to be able to create new group attributes. In our particular use case, we would like to create a temporary group attribute called SleepMonitorthat someone with operator privileges can update. (similar to the TFrozen group attribute) We would set SleepMonitor to an integer time() value that specifies when our custom monitoring script will stop ignoring the state of a service group and alert the GroupOwner when something is wrong. We want this attribute to be temporary so that it doesn't clutter up main.cf or require main.cf to be updated when a user wants to sleep monitoring. The group attribute UserIntGlobal could work if it wasn't a permanent attribute requiring the VCS configuration to be open to modify it using administrator privileges. From time to time we come up with other ideas of things we could do that require new group attributes to be created. Having the ability to create new group attributes would be phenomenal. -SeannSolved1.4KViews1like1CommentHigh Availability Agents - Agent Pack - 1Q2016 release
Veritas High Availability Agent Pack 1Q 2016is now available on SORT:https://sort.veritas.com/agents. Application Agents Added support for JBoss 8.x and 9.x. The JBoss Application Server 8.0 and later releases are now known as WildFly. Added support for Infomatica 9.5.1 on the AIX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Added support for SAP HANA SPS11. Replication Agents Enhanced EMC SRDF/SRDFSnap agent to support TimeFinder Snap and TimeFinder Clone in the CVM environment. Enhanced EMC SRDF/SRDFSnap agent to support CVM/CFS (SFRAC) on the Solaris 11 SPARC operating system. Enhanced the HTC agent support on the Solaris x86 operating system. Enhanced the HP 3PAR RemoteCopy agent to support on the Solaris 11 SPARC operating system. Enhanced the HP 3PAR RemoteCopy agent to support in the CFS environment on the AIX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Added a new attribute known as VCSResLock, which ensures the serialized management in case of a parallel application on the AIX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Important Fixes IBM WebSphere agent Filter process pattern is updated in agent to find the appropriate WebSphere process. IBM Informix Dynamic Server In the Solaris non-global zone, the agent now monitors the process whose PPID is the PID of the zone scheduler process. Updated agent start operation, the oninit –yw command is used to start the Informix server. Updated agent stop operation, the onshutdown.sh script is used to stop the Informix server. Hitachi TrueCopy; HP XP Continuous Access Updated agent to rescan all slave nodes before importing the shared DiskGroup during online. If LinkMonitor attribute is set to 2, the agent logs messages when the state of the Hitachi TrueCopy instance changes from PAIR to NON-PAIR in every monitor cycle. AllowAutoFailoverInterval functionality, which allows failover even if the SplitTakeover attribute is set to 0 in case FENCE level NEVER, is now supported in the GCO environment.533Views1like0CommentsVCS AutoStartList configuration question
Hello, We are running 2 node cluster and Node 1 is primary and Node 2 is secondary. If I set the AutoStartList = { Node1 } IF I reboot Node1, SG will fail over to Node2, but when Node 1 comes back online, would SG will fail over back to Node1 since I set AutoStartList =( Node1} ?Solved2.2KViews1like7Commentsmain.cf update question on 2 node cluster
I have a quick quesiton regarding main.cf update. Here are the steps I would like to do for 2 nodes cluster. Node1: hastop -all cp /etc/VRTSsvc/conf/confi/main.cf main.cf.back cp /etc/VRTSsvc/conf/confi/main.cf /tmp/main.cf hastart -all Is this right? If so, how broadcasting works? When I start cluster at node1 would main.cf will copy to other nodes right? Is there a way node2 main.cf wil copy over to node1? How does it determine which direction it needs to be copied?Solved1.2KViews1like3Comments
