Upgrading Netbackup hardware. We have money to spend - any advice?
Hi to all, We currently have 1 x NB 6.5.4 (Win2003) Master Server with a SCSI attached Dell TLD containing 6 x LTO3 tape drives. Additionally we have 1 further media server (Win2003) which we use for disk backups (occasionally as it is extremely slow!). We also have 1 x NOM (Win2003) server and 1 x NB PureDisk 6.5.1.2 (PDOS) server which has 2TB of local disk space. We have noticed that since we introduced multiple copy backups and all 6 Tape devices are in use, the NB platform slows to a halt. We are going to try and spread the load around a bit more. Our thinking is that we buy a media server for each of the 3 LAN's that have servers that we backup (SQL DB and File/Folder backups mainly). Each of these new media servers would either have a lot of local disk storage or would use DAS hardware. We are keen to get more out of our PureDisk software and are considering beefing that up and making it a clustered environment to an offsite device. Quite simply, I have been asked to provide a design document and I wanted to ask if anyone had any reccomendations on how they think we should invest? Our largest backups are around 2TB and these happen on a weekly basis. We also send tapes offsite on a weekly basis for the critical backups so we are not keen on disk-only solutions. We are happy to upgrade to NB7.0 too if this has any relevance with regards to our forthcoming hardware purchase. Any advice greatly appreciated..... Hello Team, We have an Infoscale cluster hosted Veritas Enterprise Vault. This cluster consists of two nodes in the main site and one node in the DR site, configured with VVR replication. We are planning to upgrade IS from version 7.4.2 to 8.0.2. What is the best approach to minimize downtime during the upgrade process? Option 1: Stop replication, upgrade all nodes simultaneously, and then restart replication. Option 2: Upgrade the DR node first (without stopping services or replication from the HQ), fail over to the DR site, and then upgrade the HQ nodes. Option 3: Upgrade the DR node first (without stopping services or replication from the HQ), stop replication, and then upgrade the HQ nodes. Thank you.130Views0likes1CommentNetbackup upgrade

I have already looked at the file and it has the right file path.528Views0likes1Comment[IT Analytics] [OVA] Trying to update from version 11.2 to 11.3

Hello again, Has anyone tried upgrading to NSS 10 from NSS 9.0 already? My attempt failed during adapter upgrade on portal server with: "error : Unable to find or remove existing NSS Certificate Done building project "InstallAdapterUrls.proj -- FAILED. Build FAILED." We use two-server install. What is interesting is the fact that afterwards the NSS appears to work as expected, but we cant be sure if there are now any hidden issues caused by this. Any ideas?1KViews0likes2CommentsNetBackup 7.5.0.6 (NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 6) is now available!

Hello Everyone, I have a new windows server 2019 with Backup exec 22 installed. I want to have all the servers we backed up to go to the new server but want to do so one server at a time to test everything and ensure it works, especially with the June updates. I keep reading that there can be issues if the backup server has a different name from the original backup server. We will not be moving the old data over to the new server we just want to start new basically.798Views0likes1CommentSafe and Easy One-Click Upgrade of NetBackup Flex Scale
