Windows Full system restore
Hello Experts, Original server crashed, we buil d new client server with same name and ip address and with same OS and patch version. Post that we installed same NBU client version. After installation we performed C:\ drive restore( completed successfully). Post C:\ drive restore we executed system state restore that too completed successfully After restore both ( C and system state) we rebooted the server but unfortunately server was not came UP, getting below error
Migrate off NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Windows 2008 over to NetBackup 10.2 on new hardware with Windows 2016
I have a server that is currently running NetBackup 7.5.0.6 on a Windows 2008 32 bit version. I need to upgrade the NetBackup application to the latest version on new hardware running Windows 2016 connected to a fibre channel connected Quantum Scalar i500 LTO 4 tape library. I am looking to understand what steps I need to take?
Netbackup Tape writing behaviour
Hello All, I have a question about tape retention. The question may be stupid and /i think i know the answer, but I am not sure. In a situation where netbackup is writing a frontend(client to tape) or SLP driven deduplication backup (disk to tape).. and for some reason the backup fails. What happens to the data that has already been written on the tape? Is it retained as per the policy schedule retention that is defined or is it discarded? Also what happens to such a tape where the backup that was writing to it failed before it could complete? Is there a way of identifying such tapes? Maybe erasing them and putting them i nthe scratch pool? Any help is fully appreciated. Kind Regards, Jay
Migration of Master server
Hi, I have a master server with this specification Phisical server Windows 2008 Netbackup 8.1.1 2 Disk pool connected by FC SAN I want to migrate to a new virtual server windows 2019. I have read this kb https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100022623 But i dont know if is possible this migration including this 2 disk pool (i should configure a hba passthrougth ) Regards
new appliance
hi, scenario: we already have 1 appliance (master media ) , console 8.0 is on Windows machine , now we install new appliance (flex) ( maser media ) and need to install the new master server console (9.1) on the same machine (Windows) (can i do that?) , move all policies and later on remove the old appliance. what is the best option to work with thanks in advanced
How to update client netabckup from 7.7.2 to 8.1.1
Hello We have some trouble with EXchange backup on our machine the backup failed with error : ******** Couldnotfetchsnapshotmetadataorstatefiles (4207) ******** Il see that we should update the client to the same version as the master/media 8.1.1 we try to do that but we face the following error during the installation : *** 08-16-2021,09:33:27 : Action start 9:33:27: INSTALL. + 08-16-2021,09:33:27 : Action ended 9:33:27: INSTALL. Netbackup 8.1.2 upgrade to 8.3.0.1 and client version
Hi, i'm preparing an upgrade from 8.1.2 to 8.3.0.1. Two culprits. An Enterprise Vault and Exchange. The current Vault and Exchange versions are still supported. But they run an Windows 2008 platforms. Windows 2008 is no longer supported on 8.3.0.1. I understand i need to leave the client version at 8.1.2 on those two clients? Upgrading to 8.3.0.1 is or not possible (installer will refuse) or renders the setup not supported (taking into account 2008 is not supported anyway but the agent still continues to function without any issue)? Before anyone asks, we have processes in place to migrate both clients. But we'll probably need an upgrade of Netbackup earlier :-)

I am unable to connect the client on netbackup master server ,its show invail error number and my client is one different location (HPux server) and my netbackup master server in different location ,please help me on this as soon as possible ,i am waiting for your help ,how to reslove the isssueThe SSO config failed on the media server itself
1) We could confirm that the SSO license was added successfully on the media server zzapp2 via bpminlicense. 2) But we repeatly failed to either tpautoconf or manually tpconfig with the SSO TD & Robot on the media server. 3) Finally we had to run Device Config Wizard successfully with the media server zzapp2 on the master server zzms.
