Removing File from Backups per Legal Order
Is there a way to extract a file from backup sets permanently? I don't want to be able to recover the file ever but can't lose the older backups.

job status - complete with exceptions
there are some backup jobs run in Backup Exec 2012 , only two full backup jobs complete with exceptions in the lastest backup task. The credential of this backup job test result was failed. we haven't change any password or credential of this job. Upgrading OpenSSL in NetBackup
Hello, I'm having a security issue with NetBackup. Basically I need to upgrade the installed version of OpenSSL that came with NetBackup. If the OpenSSL is not effected by the current and past vulnerabilities then I need to see document from Symantec. Theses are the files I need to upgrade /usr/openv/pdde/pdopensource/bin/.bin/openssl /usr/openv/pdde/pdopensource/bin/openssl OpenSSL 0.9.8y This is the version I need to be up to date. OpenSSL 0.9.8za OpenSSL 1.0.0m OpenSSL 1.0.1h I have had this issue before. Below is a link to by earlier post asking this question. http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/openssl-use-netbackup-7102 I have had this same issue with Java before. This the Symantec fix http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH148257 This fix is to use the OpenSSL that the OS is using. Is there a way to do this for SSL? I have opened a ticket with support and they don't know anything. They are not able to help me. Can someone help me secure my sever.

Unable Access Second Partition After Formatting Primary Partition
I recently had fully encrypted hard disk (Toshiba mq01abd075), operating system (Windows 7 Professional), two partition. C (146 GB) and D (548 GB) and 4 GB Unallocated space. I ran the system restore for partition C, after which I was unable to access the operating system. I reinstalled the operating system partition C. I installed PGP WDE, when I entered in the program, partition D does not appear to be decrypted. Partition D appears in My Computer (0 bytes), in computer management at disk management appear 548 GB RAW. If I double click on it ask me for Format, but i've never click Yes, so the second partition was never touch after the problem.After this I reinstalled twice the OS. Now I have windows 8.1 but stil,but still I have not touch the second partition. I've tried to decrypt the drive with a few tutorials such as(WinPE and put the hard disk as second partition): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170574 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149478 Give me various errors suchs as: "Could not locate valid BGFS record. Recovey failed! Operation recover disk failed: Error code -11984 item not found" or "Disk 1 is not instrumented by bootguard" and others. I know was my fault. Please give me a solution. NetBackup and TSM 6.2 running on DELL PowerEdge R710

Move Enterprise Vault 8.5 into standalone read only state
We are moving away for Enterprise Vault to a shared email system which will now be offsite. We have a significant investment in EV that we just can't delete and it's not an option to move to the new mail system or push everything back to exchange. Question, Once the new mail system is up and running what would be the best way to put EV into a read only state considering EV has no hooks into the new exchange system? Does archive explorer need the old exchange running to access the EV archive or can it work in a standalone state? Users would need access to the Evault mail for several years still being able to retrieve messages in the new system... It would be best to keep these system separate as much as possible meaning if a user needed an archived message going to a separate shortcut to access the vault would work best... Thanks

Backup Exec 2010 R3 on Server 2003 installation error
Hello, I have a Backup Exec 2010 R3 DVD after burn the ISO to a physical DVD. I clicked on the "Browser.exe" file from the DVD media to launch Backup Exec Installation. Symantec Backup Exec 2010 DVD Browser did not launch (Symantec logo) after I selected English langauge. I am unable to install it on Server 2003 SP2. But I was trying to test it on Windows 7 and it was working. Can anyone help? Thanks, IT Devastation

How to create a second backup job to clear the transaction logs
V-79-40960-37914 - Database wsrm is configured to maintain transaction logs. Transaction log backups are not being performed. This will result in the log growing to fill all available disk space. Regular log backups should be scheduled or the database should be changed to the simple recovery mode. I have read that creating a second SQL backup will take care of the transaction logs. The database is MICROSOFT##SSEE aWindows dB that is created if SQL is not on the server when loading Backup Exec. TIA Any methods that will help clear the eror would be nice. I am doing a full system backup when this happens. I have the SQL License that costs extra with Backup Exec 2012.
