Hallo. Experts, geeks, MVP’s,J I hope you people can help. We currently have a very big problem. Suddenly we cannot backup and restore any windows 7 pc. Our image is deployed with software central. It’s both x86 and x64 image. Our server that deployed the image is a Microsoft server 2012 . So our system partition is 350 mb and c drive the remaining space. There are non-backup programs that can restore it. We have used: Symantec v.11 /v. 13 Snapshot. Acronis. Hdclone We have tried all sorts of setting in bios and so on. The funny thing is that a windows xp is no problem. Even if we install a windows 7 by hand from a DVD. No problem. Our other department have build there image a bit different. There is no system partition. It’s all on the c drive. That is also working fine to restore. We even tried to build the BCD from scratch. With no luck. We have sent one of our pc’s to snapshot in Germany they also could not restore it. Our hardware is HP elitedesk from 8100 to the newest 800 g1 its business pc. So they have all got a tpm chip installed. So guys what could we have missed. What could possibly be the problem???Solved3.1KViews2likes16Commentscommand to display the schedule name of the policies

Hello Experts, I'll need a bit advice on how to troubleshoot this to make its workable. I have tried all below testing but all the OS still unbootable as a VM from the Hyper-V, am I missing something? I did the normal backup that creates .v2i files. These backups were sent over the network to one of our share drives. From the server i can see that the backup was completed with no errors. This is the steps i took to recover this server; Create custom recovery disk CD to a disk drive. It was complete and one ISO files was created and I transfer it into the Hyper-V server. Now from the hyper-v server, i select this ISO to boot. Once its bootup i configure the Network Settings and i able to ping the share drives server Now i map the drive and start recovering. I select the completed .v2i files, and then i select the disk (which is a Virtual disk) I select the 'Use Restore Anywhere" options In the options windows i select “Set drive active for booting OS”, Verify Recovery point, Restore Disk Signature & Restore MBR And i proceed for the recoevry However once its finished and reovery completed, the systems just hung with black screen. Nothing there! 2. So i tried the second options: I convert the recovery files using the Conversion Tools as a Microsoft Virtual Disk (.vhd) files However once the conversion is completed, i tried to boot it up using Hyper-V it will says missing boot record. Please help me on this, did i miss any steps? Any documents that can help me on BESR recovering to Hyper-V VMs?2.1KViews0likes14CommentsDoes More than one Techn work at Symantec?????

Hi all So, I have a bit of a problem. I accidentally deleted the wrong folder from our work server yesterday (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard), but we have a nightly backup to a tape drive, so I went onto the backup software (Symantec Backup Exec 2012) to restore the data. However, using the restore wizard it has been "Querying for data" for approximately 12 hours... is this normal?? Is it possible to restore files/folders from a tape backup, or would we have to restore the whole system? Do I just need to wait a long time for the system to find the data? I'm a designer with a decent knowledge of IT but Server/Server backups/Tape are all pretty new to me! We have a spare 2Tb NAS drive so I could potentially restore all of the data to this (approximately 600gb), would this be a more viable approach? Thanks in advanceSolved1.9KViews1like2CommentsAuto-assignment of tapes in logical library
Hi, I have been facing a problem with tapes. Most of the times required tapes are already available in the physical libraries, but not assigned to any logical library. At the same time, if i run the inventory on the master server, i can't see the tapes. So each time, I have to confirm with the data center person to know the status of the tapes and then i assign it to logical libraries. Can it be possible, that the moment any tapes get loaded to the library, it will be auto-assigned to the concerned logical library? Please advise. Thanks, SatyajitSolved1.8KViews2likes7Comments
