Exporting and recreating split PST files
Hello, Using Discovery Accelerator 9, I've exported out a significant amount of email for a custodian (about 50GB). I've selected to export as 'Original Type' and to encapsulate in a PST format. Doing this, I've run across a couple of questions that I'm not able to answer fully and I'm hoping someone here can do so. Question 1: The PST files split into 1.32GB size chunks and seems to divide the PST files exactly on this size (like a zip file). After looking at a PST file, it seems to possibly parse the msg files in different PST files. Meaning an email with one attachment can possibly save the email in one PST and the attachment in another. Is this something that it does? If so, is there an option to have it not do this? Question 2: After the above, it also looks like it does not retain original folder structures (maybe it never had one being in the archive). If this is correct, is there another method of export that may solve that? Thanks so much for any help.Solved2.3KViews0likes7CommentsDA v9: Email attachments not exporting
Hello, A client is using Discovery Accelerator version 9 and is encountering the following problem: When exporting custodial mailboxes as PST files, email attachments over a certain size are not included within the resulting PST file export. There are only links to the email attachments within each individual email. The client looked at their Exchange server and exported the same PST file directly from Exchange, they encountered the same problem. So, I am thinking the root cause might be a policy setup in the Exchange environment and not DA? QUESTIONS: 1) What are the specific menu steps one may take to find email attachment policies currently in place, both within DA and Exchange? 2) Is one possible answer to restore large email attachments first before exporting PST files from DA? If yes, what tool (DA or Exchange) would be used to restore large email attachments? 3) Where are these large email attachments currently physically housed? Many thanks for your help and guidance.Solved1KViews0likes1CommentDiscovery Accelerator 8 Search
Hello, I have to search and export all of a users email, xyz@abc.com, emails for the last 5 years but exclude about 40 names and domains from this search. Anyone know if there is a limit to how many names you can exclude from a search? I don't have analyics enabled and wonder if that is the best method to be doing this? I ran the following search but did not get any hits. xyz@abc.com -domain1 - domain2 - domain3...etc Suggestions?Solved999Views0likes2CommentsDA Export/Production, Missing metadata
I have an export/production problem which seems to occur randomly. When exporting search results, the metatdata doesn't always get created. I've tried running the export as an account assigned the DA admin role and as the EV service account. Both of these accounts have local admin rights to all EV, CA and DA servers. I thought I saw an article a few years back that said this may happen because of perms on a temp folder somewhere but I cannot find the page again. I'm using EV and DA 10.0.4 to archive and search for Exchange email. - Steve Colegrove951Views0likes6CommentsNeed csv or SQL export of "research" view
I have need of a report that will show me the following information on an EV email search I've performed in DA: Sender, recipient, destination, subject, date/time sent. While I can display this information in the Discovery Accelerator "Review" tab, I need to provide this summary information in CSV (or other spreadsheet) format to a particular department. We were able to do this in our previous email archive system (CAMM) and so I am seeking a way to do this using the EV product suite. All the information is there on this screen, but I need to export it to CSV. Please advise how I do this with this new (to us) tool as I've searched the web and documentation for several hours and have not found a solution. Many thanks.Solved843Views0likes3Comments
