Installation - Innapropriate Oracle service user name provided

Hi all,

We are installing IT Analytics on Windows. The Oracle service user is an AD account. It is not a part of Administrator group.

We tried the installation using both "username@domain.xyz" and "domain\username" formats of Oracle Service User Name.

The installation always fails with message "Innapropriate Oracle service user name provided".

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Lubos

  • LubosDvorak though the document suggests we can install Oracle with AD user credentials there is a reported issue. I would suggest installing Oracle using a local user. Once the Oracle is installed, you may then change the Oracle services to run under the AD user account. Then try installing Aptare.

NOTE : If you change the Oracle service account after it is installed, you still need to keep the credentials used during the Orael installation. These will be required for any future Oracle upgrade

  • How to Change Oracle Owner from Local System Account to Domain User Account in Windows (Doc ID 2035714.1)

    GOAL

To change the Oracle owner to 'Domain User Account' when Oracle services on Microsoft Windows server are currently owned by 'Local System Account'.

    SOLUTION

    1. Add the domain user in ORA_DBA group.
    2. Add Domain user in administrator list.
    3. Stop the database and service.
    4. Go to service and select oracle service and change the service startup owner as "domain user".
    5. Start the service from domain user.
